What are your favorite family Thanksgiving traditions? What's your favorite Thanksgiving dish or recipe?

Turkey Bowl at my aunt and uncles house. I’m 43 and we’ve been playing every year since I was in junior high at least. Everyone that plays(ed) football is encouraged to were their uniforms. 

My wife's extended family has had Thanksgiving together for well over 50 years. For many years it was at her Grandparents house, but it out grew the house about 30 years ago. We now reserve the church fellowship hall where her grandparents, father, aunts and uncle grew up attending. 

On a low turnout year there will be about 50 or so but we've also had years with over 125. We'll all roll in about 11:30 and by noon we'll all have our grub on. 

 

List of my personal pie preference on Thanksgiving Day...

1. Pumpkin, this is pumpkins day to shine.

2. Chocolate, it's #1 every other day of the year.

3. Pecan, not sure why it's #3 other than being delicious and just taste like the holidays are upon us.

4. Peanutbutter, no pie list is complete without Peanutbutter.

5. Apple, because America!

Honorable mention: Strawberry, Butterscotch and basically every other pie, except those with coconut. 

Costco pumpkin pie - $6.00/pie - 12 inches - 58 ounces.  It doesn't get any better.

Just saw that Sam's has the same size for $5. No idea how good it is, I've heard about the Costco one beings really good before.

Either one, a foot of pie is always a good thing.

Only tradition for me is watching the Lions game.   All additional games don't count as actual Thanksgiving games.

Favorite food:  Stuffing and cranberry sauce (the jelly kind that keeps the shape of the can it came out of.)

Dessert: Pecan Pie

Currently watching with the parade with my daughter between tasks from the wife. Thankful to get to spend today (and every day) with my girls, I’m the luckiest guy around.
