Just typical for the sport(s) themselves throughout the nation. Baseball tournament is already over a 2 week period and with pitch count limits a two and out would take you to end of June to complete. No one wants to sit through any more baseball games in a tournament than they have to.... More importantly, baseball already gets to play on a regulation playing field and softball has to play on a beer league field with temporary fences....I think we should give latitude to the ladies on this one...they start out on a substandard set up anyway. :popcorn:

Ummmm, yes....I believe this is a big upset for a first round game. #1 now has to play out of the losers bracket and the entire mindset is changed. You have no cushion and no margin for error if you want to win it all. It puts everyone else who won their first round game in a one up position. In a two out tournament, any first round loss is a big deal. A first round loss by the pre-tourney #1 gives every other winner from first round an advantage and puts the losing team in a one down position. Good luck to McCracken....have to play up and out to win out.

Let's remember that this was a split squad from Scott County. About half and half starters and bench personnel to form 2 teams.

290 posts in this thread, mostly from those inside Bracken County.... Based on the posts, it would appear that what I am about to say doesn't matter to most who have posted, but.... Anyone wonder what it looks like to those outside the county lines ? Not a lot of good coming out of any of these actions for anyone....too bad that a tradition that has stood since 1934, which both schools are HUGE on, is going to be torn down because of a petty decision by a few..... Good luck to the entire county of Bracken....

That's probably a 20 game schedule over 11 or so days. May be a little on the high side but most of these camps are running clock games with a lot more socializing than playing. It is definitely getting to be more the norm these days...

Bracken played well against Logan WV yesterday. Not deep, and got some work to do, but not bad overall. Need to work on physical game and their post play is suspect right now. Crawford makes all things happen with this team.

Just a question for the general population: What is it about parents / fans that they think that the month of June is the time for them to come to a scrimmage and tune up on their officiating from the stands ? Those that know me understand this question. Here's a thought: It's a summer scrimmage. Coaches, players and officials are working on their game....I would suggest parents that want a summer scrimmage called like a mid-January rivalry game should pay full price to get in to the gym. In case you don't know, most are not getting paid to be at these camps.....lighten up, shut up and watch. If you can't do that, stay home and let your kid enjoy the summer.

I think what you are looking for is the definition of "visiting" ..... to go somewhere to spend time with (someone, such as a friend or relative) to go somewhere to see and talk to (someone) in an official way or as part of your job

Seems like this happened last year. Does CCHS have a policy to post annually with coaches positions that are not filled by teaching staff ? That is my guess. I would think that preference would be given to professional staff at CCHS if they wanted to apply. Current staff are not teachers at CCHS. I don't think there is anything to see here....let's move along....

No, you are wrong to say that Playtowin29 is the kind of parent that gives sports a bad name....and wrong to imply that he indicated that because of win / loss record. You were pretty quick to jump an HHS parent, but I doubt that you really know a lot about @Playtowin29 or their motivations.... The point is that these lists are not always all inclusive nor are they comprehensive in their look at the body of work that is put in by players and / or coaches. I feel very confident in saying that you won't find more supportive parents around than some of these....I will agree that the Owensboro comment may have had a little slap in it, but we all get that once in a while...because we're parents..

Boyd County is physically as tough as any team I have seen. That's not to say they are the "best", but physically very tough on an opponent. Mason County has some things to work on, but overall solid and just keep bringing it at you. Summer work should help Perkins, he has great length at the rim, just needs to work on touch and tough and should be a key factor. Bracken County, never count them out. Hinson has a plan I'm sure. Pendelton does not have a lot of depth and obviously without Allen a much different team. This is always a good go round for both boys and girls at Mason County. Sumo does a great job working to organize and there are always very reasonable crowds for this event. The air conditioning is so cold at both Fieldhouse and Maysville Gym you need a jacket to be comfortable.

Having dealt with the KHSAA and transfer / eligibility rules I have to believe there are extreme circumstances involved in this one. I can also say that, from my experience, the KHSAA imposes rigid guidelines in even what would appear to be the most obvious cases. I do not think the KHSAA takes transfers lightly. I do believe that most outside observers, that have never dealt with KHSAA or a transfer, have any idea how difficult it is to "prove" eligibility in the case of transfers.
