I was surprised most at: (1) The margin of the Bowling Green/Christian County game; (2) JC losing and (3) Mason Co. over Danville.

For whatever reason PT was a different team after Powell's injury. Tilghman was in it until the final play. Overall, it was a night of poor offensive execution for PT and 8 penalties.

I mean no disrespect to anyone. Given that FTCKY benefits from a KHSAA bylaw waiving sit outs for military transfers; it practices and plays in Tennessee where most of its players live; FC has the ability to discipline players in ways that other schools do not; it has a highly restricted and desirable enrollment base - dependents of active duty (and typically higher ranking) personnel living on post and a per pupil expenditure that Ky. public schools only dream about, Fort Campbell should never lose. I admire the program greatly but it's not exactly a level playing field. I notice that Micah transferred in from Virginia "in time" for his junior season. That is a PCS-TDY blessing. I wonder what Willis could have achieved in the FC environment.

You are not alone with those concerns. From an outside perspective, I think they just needed a confidence booster, something to build on.

PT unveiled a swarming defense that held Ballard Co and Heath High school scoreless tonight at Ballard Co. jamboree. It looked much improved over last year, but this was still Class A competition. Ground game clicked but mixed signals in the air. Josh Forrest caught two nice passes and track burners Rashad Brown and Denzel Powell looked very crisp. Lot of questions were answered tonight.

Just Posted on Ballard Co. Schools website re: tonight's round robin scrimmage starting at 6 p.m. at the school. Ballard vs. Reidland and Paducah Tilghman vs. Heath. Then Ballard vs. Tilghman and Reidland vs. Heath.

Mayfield sent highly recruited 4 star lineman Micah Jones to UK but I think injuries and academics kept him off the field.
