Tonight, 8/14, Fort Campbell will host Christian County, Calloway County, and Clarksville Northeast, TN in a round robin scrimmage format.

 

I believe the matchups are:

 

Calloway vs Northeast

Northeast vs Ft Campbell

Calloway vs Christian Co

Christian vs Ft Campbell

 

Each team will play a half.

 

I’m looking forward to seeing how Christian Co and Ft Campbell match up against each other. Each team made to Louisville last year and has some very good athletes.

Does Fort Campbell normally play Christian County or Hopkinsville during the regular season? If not, that seems like it would make for some great games.

Fort Campbell is playing Hopkinsville this year, and they have played Christian Co in the past.

Northeast beat Calloway County 21-0

Fort Campbell scored two touchdowns in the first six minutes and beat Christian County 19-0

Is Christian County expected to be as good as last season? They had a nice club, but Owensboro and Bowling Green are big hurdles in that region.

 

Looks like Fort Campbell could be the real deal once again.

Fort Campbell scored on their first play of each scrimmage. Their defense pretty much shut down Christian County’s offense and only the 2nd team defense gave up a score against Northeast.

 

Christian County looked good against Calloway County, but had little success against the Falcons. In the Northeast vs Calloway scrimmage, Northeast scored 3 times and didn’t give up any points.

 

Overall Fort Campbell went 2-0, Christian Co 1-1, Northeast 1-1, and Calloway 0-2. I do not believe Willis played for Calloway, but since they didn’t wear numbers I can’t say for sure.

It was an exciting night of football at Fryar Stadium.

 

I was really looking forward to the Christian County game because I thought it would be a good game to face the 2008 5A Runner-Up....but it wasn't as close as I had thought it would be. Granted, it was a scrimmage game, but because of the proximity of the schools and the fact that they won't play each other in the regular season.....yada, yada, yada.

 

I wanted to also thank Northeast HS's cheerleaders for making a TW 73 ribbon that was handed out to those in attendance, it was a very nice gesture and it was appreciated by me and my wife.

 

I would also like to thank the Fort Campbell Falcon community for their continued support, love, thoughtfulness, and prayer.

I thought so. McDuffen is a very good player as well as Banks and Tandy. However, I was very impressed with Fort Campbell’s defense after watching Christian County scrimmage Calloway County.

Combined score of 38-7; not a bad evening for the Falcons. Antonio Andrews' 70 yard TD pass to Moreno on the first play of the scrimmage with Christian County was demoralizing for the Colonels. (2008 5A Runner-up)

 

The defense was exceptional, only score was given up by the reserves late in the first scrimmage.

 

Would have liked RB Troy Turner to get in the mix a little more, but no need to show all the weapons in a scrimmage.

 

Calloway County's 6' 3" 256 lb RB Tyrrell Willis was a disappointing no-show. The Lakers are pretty sorry with out him in the game.

I was really wanting to see him tonight. There have been comparisons between Willis and Micah Johnson. I didn't believe them, only one Micah, just wanted to see Willis for myself.

Willis is a stud on both sides of the football. Johnson is a better defensive player, but I think Willis is slightly better on offense than Micah was. Interesing comparison.

You seriously think Willis is better in any aspect of the game compared to an All SEC athlete and possible first round NFL draft choice? This is a roll-up of Micah's High School career taken right from the UK website. I don't believe that when this season ends that the list of accomplishments for Willis will be 1/4 of Micah's.
