:idunno::isurrender:Rowan was running a lot of Fresh and Sophs in and out of the OL and DL early on in the first half. With the score 21 to 0 at the end of the first quarter, what would you expect?

Are you kidding, I don't think West Carter can play with Mason Co at all. No contest. Mason will win easily.

I am hopeful that Rowan Co can win this one at home. Rowan Co's offense will have to be on top of it's game and defense also. Lawrence Co is a very good team, so it should be a good game. I"m pulling obviously for Rowan Co to pull an upset on this one.

Congratulations to Rowan Co. Not much of a game to watch, sad for East Carter. Rowan played a lot of their Freshmen and Sophs after the 1st quarter.

I agree that Thunderstruck is the tune.

What are you predictions for this game on Friday night at East Carter?

I think West Carter will win this one. Fleming Co has been struggling this year.

Greenup Co has some impressive size inside, from what I can remember. They were a big team with Freshmen and Soph a couple of years ago, so they should have size and talent. I'm not sure about the guard play, if you are weak at the guard position, then they will struggle, getting the ball up the floor and getting the ball inside to the big men. I know they have some big men, so if they play an inside out game, this could help them.

I can see this both ways, but I think that the JV team is the feeder team or development team to the varsity team, and usually the younger players need the playing time to develop. If a kid is a senior who has never played before, it seems too bad, but he couldn't be serious about playing to wait until he is a senior to try to play. It's too late.

:laugh:Way to go Vikings, I thought it would come down to the 4th quarter and possibly the kicking game. What a kick "Rhett Hughes" 46 yard field goal with 10 sec to go in the game. Way to nail it down Rhett. The Vikings are ready to just roll on to the next game.:thumb:

:thumb: Hey guys, sorry to rock the boat, but the Rowan County Vikings are a very talented team. They have several good players in addition to Cross. Hodge, Williamson, Wing, Kionte Moore, McClurg, and the list goes on. Rowan's DL is very good, several seniors, Cody Wallace, and Doug Saunders are huge defensive linemen. Should be a good matchup, harder for the Vikes to play at Greenup, but I still think Rowan Co will pull this one out. Rowan's conditioning really shows up in the 4th quarter, when the other teams are running out of steam, Rowan is ready to roll. They also have a great kicker in Rhett Hughes, long kick offs, punts, and he is deadly on the field goal attemps. The kicking game could be the difference.

I don't have an idea on this one, other that it will be a clash on Friday night. Great rivalry.

I agree, Koty Riley has talent, good ball player, fun to watch.

I thought you might be talking about Cody Parker, he has a lot of talent. I saw him a couple of years ago at the summer camp in Georgetown, KY and he was looking good. I know he plays football also, he may be more interested in football in college than basketball. No offense taken on Hunter, I just think he is an unknown, and he is going to surprise a lot of folks.

I can't believe that someone didn't mention Adam Wing for Rowan Co and also Darryl Cross for Rowan. Darryl is a much better football player and track star than basketball, but he can play any sport. Adam Wing is very strong in both sports.

Who is the big kid from Johnson Central? What is his name. You need to develop an opinion on Hunter for Rowan, I think folks will be greatly surprised by his game, if he can stay healthy this year. Knipp is a very good player, he has great ball control, shooting ability, in addition to being tall.

[/b][/i][/u]Rowan has a much better team than they showed against Mason. I couldn't believe the onside kicks to start the game. I think the Rowan Co. coaching staff has to take responsibility for this one.Poor game plan. Rowan has one of the best kickers in the state and didn't kick the ball deep, kept giving Mason field advantage all night long. Rowan's defense played really well, keeping the Vikings in the game, even into the 4th quarter. Rowan tried some trickery plays, three that I remember, and none of them worked, instead of just playing basic smashmouth football. Rowan tried to get the 1st down on a 3rd and 12 down, and didn't make it, instead of kicking, again giving Mason excellent field position. The Rowan Co. offense, just couldn't put anything together, Cross was shut down totally, couldn't believe Rowan didn't go more to Phillip Hodge and Stephen Williamson, if three people are on Cross, then someone else is open, all night long....Dissappointing loss, the team didn't seem to be as up as I thought they would be for this game, seemed to be flat. Anyway, moving on to the Boyd Co game this Friday night, shouldn't be much of a matchup for Rowan, but it is the first District game.
