:thumb:Can a player try out that wasn't on the list?? Rowan Co has several great players that arent even mentioned. Adam Wing, Junior, Corey Hunter, aka Mountain Man, 6'7. He can certainly play defense, gave Hickey the Spalding Sandwitch dudring the state Tourney.:sssh: -
It was a great game. Rowan held their composure under pressure. Wing is very strong and has a great no quit attitude, he is surrounded by great players and lots of tsldnt. Rowan probably has the most talented team in the 16 th region.

Wow, what is happening to the lions? Have their weaknesses been exposed to the rest of the world? They are very beatable. Now the rest of the world can see it to. It's very hard for two players to carry a team.:sssh: -

Very nice game for the Vikings, but there is still room for inprovement. They still are not where they need to be in their season, but they seem to keep improving with every game. Rowan vs Elliott Co on Friday night. we need preditions on this one.

Menifee County 45 Rowan County 44
Vikings1980 replied to howwelookin's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
:eek:Rowan was just off their game that night. Ii think they learned a valuable lesson, that you can't look past anybody. Menifee played very hard, very scrappy, were quicker that night than Rowan Co. It was definately a shocker, Rowan just wasn't playing up to their true capabilities. Hopefully, this is a blessing in disguise. It will be pay back time when Menifee Co comes to Rowan Co next week to play on Wed. for Senior night. Any predictioins on that one??? -
George Rogers Clark 54 Rowan County 52
Vikings1980 replied to gold sunrise's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Just in case you missed it, you can still see the game on line on Wazoo Sports.com. As far as what the announcers said about the last second foul, they called it a foul, and Rowan Co should have been at the free throw line for three shots. GRC definately had a home court advantage and overlooked Rowan Co's talent. GRC pushed, fouled and charged there way to the last .5 sec without fouls being called against them. Just watch the game for yourself and you'll see what I am talking about. No crying, just fact. Hats off to Rowan Co for a great effort. -
Mason County vs Rowan County Predictions
Vikings1980 replied to bigblueinsanity's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
:thumb:I don't think Rowan Co will give in to Mason this year. Rowan is a very determined ball team and hard to rattle. They have played ball a long time and know the ups and downs and stay focused and just keep battling, so I think it is going to be a very close game, good game, but I think Rowan has more all around talent. -
Any thoughts? The Rowan Co Vikings gave Clark Co something to think about tonight. Came within two points of winning. If you watch the last play on Wazoo Sports, I think you will see the Viking player got fouled on the three point shot, with no call. Vikings were in a position to win the game. Congratulations to the Vikings for a very good show.:thumb:

:dancingpaWell boys and girls the Rowan Co Vikings just rolled all over Bath Co tonight by 30. 66 to 36. This will be a good test for Rowan to see where they are at in their season. Definately Clark Co has the advantage, I see Clark Co as the Golliath and Rowan Co as David. You know what happened in that senario.

Any thoughts on tonights game?:sssh:

Tates Creek 57 Jeffersontown 44
Vikings1980 replied to mcraycraft's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Good win for Tates Creek, J-town definately did not bring their A game. One of their best players was out yesterday, did not dress. And I agree with Contantly Yelling, Breeden has a problem. He is screaming his head off, even when his team is up 12 or more. No reason for the yelling, it is silly, and makes him look small. He can get his point across to his team without the yelling, his players are not stupid. -
Mason County 60 John Hardin 49
Vikings1980 replied to mcraycraft's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Good game for Mason Co. They looked better yesterday than they have looked all year. I was surprised how weak John Hardin looked to be ranked as high as they were touted. They must have had a very off game. Mason looked much improved. -
Fleming County / Mason County 1-25
Vikings1980 replied to mhighfield's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
:ylsuper::irked:Mason Co for the win, no contest. Fleming Co has not had a strong team in the last 10 years, thats why this rivalry has lost some of it's zing. Fleming has not had a team to match up with Mason in years. Mason is a lot weaker this year, than in several years past, but still will over power Fleming at its best. -
Rowan Co is now 11 and 3 and after tomorrow night against Bath Co., hopefully, will be 12 and 3. They still are not playing their best basketball, but are able to hang in games and put away the win. Should be a good game, this will be the best competetion that Rowan has faced this year. The Vikings will bring their game to Clark Co.

Gateway Holiday Classic at Montgomery County
Vikings1980 replied to Plato's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
:thumb::clap:This was a very nice holiday tournament. The Rowan Co Vikings were very happy to be there. Good competetion and a great facility. The Vikings gained a lot of good experience that will help them down the road. Nice job by Montgomery Co to host this Holiday Classic. -
West Carter 51 Rowan County 41
Vikings1980 replied to 16thBBall Fan's topic in KY Boys Basketball (High School)
Hats off to West Carter, they came out ready to play, and Rowan couldn't have been more off. Rowan shot air balls, were slow with their legs, Wing was held scoreless and fouled out, Rowan only hit 1 three all night. Hunter was the only bright spot for Rowan Co with 10 points, 5 rebounds, 5 blocks, 2 steals, and 2 deflections. Hope Rowan can regroup and get this one out of their system.:scared: -
:clap:Very tough competetion, hard fought ballgame. Rowan Co played well throughout the game and really came thru in the 4th quarter when it counts. Any comments on the game?:thumb:
