Pretty much my take on the game. Mason has several younger players that have come a long way this season and given Mason more depth than they had at the beginning of the season. I think Mason was fresher than Russell in the fourth quarter. Mason's O-line can wear you down.

I have to believe Mason will have this game wraped up by the end of the third quarter. Mason should win this by three td's!

I think West is one of those teams that is good enough - especially on the defensive side of the ball - to hang with Mason if they play mistake-free. I still like the Royals, though.

 

As I recall, last year's game was just a bit on the wet side, and Jordan Gilbert made as good a catch as I've ever seen in a high-school game. And no, I'm not related.

Are you kidding, I don't think West Carter can play with Mason Co at all. No contest. Mason will win easily.

I think Mason County will win this game easily. However, even if they do, they're going to need to play better than they did last Friday at Russell. They won the game because they had more talent than Russell, but they need to play more disciplined. I'm pulling for the Royals to make a run at the 3A state title, but they're going to have to be a lot better than they were this past week.

I agree. They kill themselves with holding penalties and have been too easily drawn off-sides by the opposing quarterback's cadence at times.

The score in this game was 18-12 Mason going into the fourth last year at West. West is only giving up 23yds per game in the air this season and 11.2 total points per game. Mason is more than able of blowing West out but West is an improved team that has speed that come match up with Mason. West is a couple of plays of being 7-0 with close losses to Russell and Fairveiw. If West can play their A game I think West will give Mason all they want, and an upset is not a ridiculous idea. I think it will come down to how well Mason's Defense plays this Friday.

Russell sucked Mason into those. Went on a quick count pretty much every play, then later in the game, every time it was 3rd and 5 or less, mix up the cadence. Guys, watch the football.

Agreed on all counts. A score somewhere along the lines of 21-14 (either way) wouldm't shock me, but if Mason plays their A game and West does not, it could be lopsided.

I suspect Mason will bring their A game, maybe in Spades. It's homecoming, the seniors, the heart of this team, are fired up. The better players for Mason always bring their A game. Indeed, Pawsat's greatest flaw may be that he tries too hard. Depends on how Coach B plays it, too. If Mason gets up, he may play the back ups earlier than usual to save the starters for down the road, thus keeping the score lower.
