I couldnt stay for this game but from what all the feedback I heard from some people the Colonels looked very good in this game as they took on this Louisville Southern team. Hitting came alive and pitching was once again stellar. If I must mention, Southern is the team that beat Trinity earlier this week 6-4 so the Colonels sure did play a good game. Smallwood started out for the Colonels and was told that he looked DOMINANT. From what I heard he went 4 innings and struck out 9 and walked 0 while only giving up 1 run. Smallwoods fastball and off speed today was said to be very live and overpowering for this Southern team. Leon came in in relief and nailed down the win. Both pitchers in this game was said to looked very good for the Colonels. Smallwood(1-0) :dancingpa

When does Beechwood play next?

Ryle Raiders JV squad traveled to Dixie Heights to play the Colonels in the first game under the lights at DHHS this season. Im not sure who the kid who started for the Raiders was but Adam Dickman started for the Colonels and Cody Sprague came in relief for him. Good game to both teams. Dixie Heights will scrimmage Holy Cross at Noon this Saturday 3/20 and then the Colonels will take on Ryle at 2:30 that same Saturday 3/20. These games will take place at Dixie Heights. Looks like a good preseason game of the top 2 teams in the Coaches Poll. :dancingpa

Beechwood I think the 9th region top 3 teams can be a mixture of Conner, Dixie, and Boone depending on which teams can go deeper and i think Dixie has the edge IMO but Conner and Dixie match up well, i'll be anxious to watch this game.

From what i've seen its not anything major, no excessive elbows, just more banging and knocking guys around. I think this Kid is going to be special the next to years, Along with Hatton and Stansberry. KUDOS to Holmes on the W.

I have watched him play a few times this year, he really hasn't shown me anything thats impressed me this year. He plays sloppy and takes forced shots. I think Trevan Brown and Smith-Keller have to be tops on the list

I think he's done alot better job this year and has showed alot of maturity, he played very calm and under control tonight. He missed some shots but, the whole Dixie team just looked off tonight. The elbows and stuff is just his competive side and his drive to win. Pittman seems alot more thugesh than Pike, so lets not single out one player. I think he's a tremendous athlete and has a very bright future
