IMO there is no doubt the best 6th man, is Newport Wildcat's Brandon Tucker. He's a winner, he always has been one of the best true shooters, he can jump out of the gym, block shots and he can really get after you on Defense, agressively!! I forgot his ability to dribble, he can break a press and pass the ball like a big time player. A matter fact he may be one of the best complete overall players in the 9th Region!! Maybe being the 6th man, makes him strive harder to be better. Anyone else have any candidates or does everyone that knows this youngman agree??

Trevan Brown for Boone. Has led multiple games in scoring for Boone and given them the spark they need to win. He doesn't take attitude because he doesn't start on a team that he may deserve to start. A true role model for play and great attitude whatever the circumstances may be.

Tucker doesn't start? Wow.

No he doesn't start, but i do agree that he is the best sixth man in the ninth region. He could start for almost all teams in the ninth region but coach elects to bring him in off the bench, i know he doesn't care for it but most people thinks when he comes to play he play's better coming off the bench.:notworthy:

Keavon Rice from Holmes with Alex Conneley from Cov. Cath. on his heals in 2nd.

[caveat: I haven't seen Newport play other than last night. Here's hoping I don't have to recast my vote after Saturday's Newport vs. Cov. Cath. game.]

Smith-Keller for Highlands can defend and shoot the 3 well also.

If you were going for a sixth from HHS it would have to be Corey Dill......never developed his offensive game enough but an excellent ballhandler, good defender......banger/rebounder and very good passer.....could play 1 - 5 positions. He was very adaptable and a team leader through a tough season. Sounds like the definition of a great sixth man to me!

I would agree that Brandon would qualify as well. He does a lot of things and his growth/maturity have impressed me the most. He has always had the skills part but he has learned to be a true team player.....come a long way there. Good luck the rest of the way Tuck !

I think Keavon has an opportunity to be a very, very good player. He is young and won't be in his current role throughout his career but I would disagree with him being the best 6th man. While he has a lot of upside to him, currently you have to have a kid you can rely on to be there night in and night out for you. Rice has had some major struggles this year that has limited his productivity. He needs to work on his attitude and ability in order to be truly listed as a top 6th man. I mean this as no disrespect to Keavon because as I stated he will be one of the better players in years to come but right now he isn't there yet.

Tucker gets my vote. He is a tough kid and contributes to that spark that has Newport as a legit contender in the 9th.

I agree, Trevan would probably be a starter on any other 9th region team around here. As a sixth man, he does provide Boone with some great energy and trouble for defenders. I believe he is just behind Gabbard as the teams second leading scorer and his rebound stats are up there also. The key as you mentioned is that he doesn't take attitude for lack of playing time or not starting, he just goes in and gets the job done at a very succesful rate for a sixth man. The kid gets my vote...hands down!

Very true Remmac. Cory was very versatile and even though he didn't score a lot he did a ton of intangibles.

He was. However, for many of the reasons discussed in Off_Constantly's excellent post above, Keavon is now coming off the bench (or at least he did, as of the Bulldog's two games in the Districts).

Thanks for the info. Is Avery now starting?
