  1. Holmes should win this contest, but the Royals will keep the margin within 10 points. Mason's defense will keep this a low scoring game. Expect scores to be in the mid 50's.
  2. I predict some unknown team will lose in their regional tournament and blame it on home court advantage. lol Happy New Year.
  3. Highlands was not the only team in that game missing players. I think Mason is definitely showing something without Pawsatt and Harris. Mark it down, this team will play 9 possibly 10 deep on the bench if the above mentioned players are back by the post season. Also, Clark has to prove they can finish the deal in March. Something they have only done once in the last two decades.
  4. Not bragging, it is an analogy that sums up where GRC stands in the race for a state championship. The contending teams win these games, regardless of whether or not it is December or February. By the way, what school to you support anyway?
  5. It's easy to score 28 in one quarter, when you do it with the clock stopped and 8 players on the floor.
  6. Because Clark has done nothing, so far, to prove otherwise.
  7. Yea, what a joke. To beat it all, the MVP trophy was bigger than the team championship plaque. This kind of puts more of an emphasis on individual accolades than it does on team accomplishments. I would have been embarrassed to carry around that ridiculously large trophy, knowing that my team had lost the game. This is sending the wrong message to these young student athletes.
  8. Give me a break. Mason has played tougher schedules than this over the past 10 years. Lofton and company played and won these games during their title runs and the same goes for the Darius Miller led Royals. The years when Mason was a serious title contender, they were winning the Holiday tournaments, not getting beat in the consolation brackets. If GRC considers themselves true State title material, then they must start winning some of these games. Yes it is only December, but that excuse is about to come to an end. Clark is still the favorite to win the 10th region but Mason is starting to slowly close that gap.
  9. Mason has seemed to have Brossart's number for the past decade. According to the KHSAA scoreboard, Brossart has not beaten Mason since the 2000 10th Region championship. That is a streak of 18 consecutive wins. This is an amazing stat, considering some of the good teams the Mustangs have had during this time period. I know Mason has been strong, but you would still think that Brossart would have at least pulled one or two wins.
  10. This game should have never gotten this far out of hand. Johnson Central has to be the most undisciplined team I have watched play in a long time. At one point several players were arguing with the officials and the coaching staff for JC did nothing to put an end to this nonsense. Johnson Central has some quality players and even controlled the game for a good portion of the first half, but a total lack of composer and leadership led to the blowout.
  11. Sumo never mentioned the Fieldhouse in his post. You are putting words in his mouth. In reality, Mason only plays about 9 regular season games at home.
  12. Two teams from each region? Do you honestly think the schools from the most heavily populated areas are getting screwed with the current system? Teams from Louisville and Lexington have higher enrollments and a wider range of talent to work with and develop. Before the KHSAA will allow something like that to happen, you will be looking a classed system. Do you really want 6 state champions?
  13. Give me a break. Highlands is not the only team missing key players. Pawsatt is every bit as important to Mason as these two are to Highlands. If Pawsatt plays, Mason wins this game.
  14. Don't forget that Mason is also missing a key player in Pawsatt. His inside muscle would have been a big difference maker in this contest.
  15. Is the Barner ballplayer who had 19 points for Bryan station the same one who played for Mason County the last 2 years...Phil???
  16. Ok, I see your point. Sorry for the quick judgement. The loss of Pawsat will definitely hurt, but I still look for some young players such as Tyler Black and Josh Harris to also improve this team. the addition of the Manship kid should also pay off in the depth department. GRC is in the 10th region drivers seat, and will be for the bulk of the regular and post seasons. But don't sleep on Mason just yet. They have players that know what it takes to get to the promised land and have actually been there. Good luck to both teams.
  17. In no way stirring anything up. This is not a miss-interpretation of the written word. It is misuse of punctuation on the part of the person posting.
  18. Exactly, play with what you have and not use injuries as an excuse. But of course, no member of this forum would ever use that as an excuse for not making it to Rupp Arena. lol
  19. Maybe. But please explain the addition of the exclamation point. There is no need for that, regardless.
  20. Is there any need for the exclamation point? You sound as if you are happy that a high school kid is injured. What if someone from Mason made the same loud statement about the Purvis kids injury? Clark fans would have had a cow.
  21. Great game plan by Pike County Central. They knew Mason could not throw the football down field and as a result kept 9 players in the box for a majority of the game. This is a sound football team that makes very few, if any, mistakes and capitalized on Mason's lack of ball protection. If you cough up the football that many times in the playoffs, you are gonna lose. Bottom line. Hopefully if Pawsatt is back healthy next season, they can make a legitimate run at the 3A title. Congrats Mason on a great season. Good luck PCC the rest of the way. Bring on Basketball!!!!!!
  22. Let's also remember that Colt has been battling shoulder problems all season. If he goes down, Mason could be in serious trouble. My prayers are with Neal and his family. Hopefully the Royals can rally around Neal and keep this train rolling.
  23. Mason Co. 38 Fleming Co. 14 Mason puts this contest away early and wins their second straight district title. Josh Harris cannot be stopped in this matchup.
  24. I left this game truely impressed with West Carter. Considering that last years game was a 55-8 running clock beatdown, this team has made great strides in less than a year. They will be a force in this district the next couple of years. This was probably the best gameplan anyone has had against Mason this year. Good coaching and young talent, the sky is definitely the limit for this squad. Good luck the remainder of the season.
  25. Not going to happen. Mason will take care of business. They will be the #1 seed.
