Cooper vs Holmes (Frosh) predictions
I think playing kids on the JV level is a very good idea, but not the varsity level. There are 1, maybe 2 kids playing freshman ball at Cooper that could play varsity, and one of them has already been moved up.:thumb:

Cooper/Boone County Predictions
I kind of lean towards the fact that they are both running behind similar lines and are both playing similar defenses. IMO. Boone' RB's have had nice holes thanks to their line. Same story with Cooper. Both defenses have been shakey at best. Sorry, but I am not buying into your arguement, Bradley has more yards than both backs I am pretty sure, and both defenses have shown signs of struggle.

Defensive Stat Leader to Date
A LOT of statisticians give what I like to call "Pile On" Points. Meaning, if a kid is around a tackle and sort of dives on the pile, they will get credit or half the credit for making the tackle...happens a lot more than people realize and they definitely add up!

That Flat Excuse
I understand the reasoning, but I totally think that a team coming out flat is also a lack of mental preparation. Football is considered 85% mental, and I think part of that is getting yourself prepared. I think a team that you hear being called "flat" is a team that just doesn't have their mind in the game. I don't think it is a knock on the opponent, but more just a way for coaches and others to realize that their football team is a lot better than they have shown on a given night.

Cooper/Boone County Predictions
Agree totally with you. Now I am not knocking Boone County at all because they are a good team and have played some VERY difficult games this year. But you must point out obvious things like this. Is Cooper as good as some of the other teams Boone has played? No. But, do I think with a healthy Bradley that Cooper can compete with Boone County this year based on what they have shown? Yes. I think it will be an interesting game friday night and if I am wrong I will be the first to start cooking the crow. I know how you guys love pointing that out. LOL JK

Dixie vs. Holmes predictions
You are so right....tackling, although one of the basic skills in football is, imo, one of the hardest things to correct. Definitely doesn't happen overnight, or even in a week or two if you ask me.

Sick players
Mostly a few kids here and there at Cooper. A few kids came from Ryle High School and are still very good friends with kids currently at Ryle and we all know how they got hit with the flu bug. Hard to compete with mother nature!

Cooper/Boone County Predictions
Point taken, but I have to argue against you on this. Just wouldn't feel right if I didn't. LOL. After watching a few games of Boone, their defense has struggled very much against backs that are of less talent than Bradley, IMO. I agree that it will be easier to key on him than it was on other teams, but every game Bradley has had success and I don't see that changing.

Cooper vs Holmes (Frosh) predictions
How do you expect a group of freshman to compete at the varsity level at 6A? It makes no sense to move these kids up.

Cooper/Boone County Predictions
Just curious to your reasoning about this?? Not doubting you at all, as I do believe that Cooper is still a little while away from being competitive, but Boone has shown a very hard time stopping the run, which is Cooper's strength. I personally think it will be closer than many think, but I will not post a prediction. If you ask me this could be a suprisingly high scoring game.

Cooper/Boone County Predictions
This Friday, October 9th, 7:30 PM the Cooper Jags travel to Boone County High School to take on the Rebels. What does everyone think about this matchup?

Ryan Ernst NKY top 25
I like the list for the most part, but you can't tell me that D'vontae Bradley shouldn't be on the underclassmen list?

NKY Freshmen week of 9/29
It really wasn't that big of a test for the Freshman Jags. Cooper came out flat with it being the first game, but picked it up late in the 1st quarter and early in the 2nd. I think the halftime score was somewhere near 30-7.

NKY Freshmen week of 9/29
Yes it is on for tomorrow night at Cooper at 7:00 pm. Time had to be pushed back a little bit for travel, and also because there is a soccer game tomorrow night at 5 I believe. Hope this helps

Cooper 74 Newport 0 (Frosh)
So last year when Cooper was getting beat on the freshman level by these lower level schools they still should have been playing in the higher division? :ohbrother:

Sheldon Clark Staff Shakeup?
Interesting, kind of odd too see that happen in the middle of the season. Must have been something to it, any details?

Cooper 74 Newport 0 (Frosh)
It sounded worse than the way I meant for it to sound. The point I was trying to make is that on the freshman level you want your kids to be successful and begin learning what is needed for their next 3 years on varsity. It shouldn't matter who they are playing, and there is nothing that can be done about it so why is it such a big deal? Thats all I was saying:thumb:

Cooper 74 Newport 0 (Frosh)
See my above point about Cooper's freshman team the first year. These kids came from the BCPWFL and struggled, winning a game. Played the same competition as this year pretty much. I'm not saying that there is a lack of talent in the pee wee leagues because there is and i stay up to date with it. But how do you know in February if a kid is coming to your school, or going to boone, conner, ryle, beechwood, highlands, covcath, or newcath? A few of the better players for Cooper's freshman team weren't originally going to Cooper; they were either headed for beechwood or somewhere else.

Cooper 74 Newport 0 (Frosh)
I think it is wrong that people get on here and bash the decision made by Cooper High School to play in a lower level on the freshman level. First off, no offense, but its Freshman Football, who cares? All that is supposed to be happening at this level is kids playing games and learning everything for their next 3 years on varsity. Second, when this schedule was decided on, IN FEBRUARY, there was no idea of who would be coming to play for Cooper, etc. Heck, there wasn't even a Freshman coach at this time. And for those who say that Cooper knew the talent that was coming to school the next year from the Boone County PeeWee System, I say that is hog wash. Last year, the Cooper freshman team got kids from the BCPWFL and I know they didn't win more than 1 game last season, and was not even in many of the games. If you want to bash Coopers Freshman Schedule, come on out to Cooper Thrusday night and watch them take on Scott County. Then maybe there wont be any more complaining.

Ryle 56 Cooper 13
Don't give up on him already. He is only a junior, and as far as i'm concerned, 112 yards rushing is good on any night, just got to work on the fumbles.

Conner/Simon Kenton... Take 2
Should be a fun game to watch. I do have to give the nod to the Cougars by the slightest of margins.

Ryle/Cooper Predictions
I am glad that is why they play the games my friend. As far as Conner/SK tomorrow night. Good luck!! Coming from an alumni of the Conner Football Program! I will definitely be watching it on TV Saturday evening to see what happens! :thumb:
