That is about as correct as it can get. When teams focus on stopping Brown, the other two bigs have to step up. IMO Stanley and Downs were not shut down by Dixie's defense as someone stated earlier. They were able to get to the basket on occasions but not at will.

Give me a break! Brown and Pike played aggressive all night with each other and still were best of friends after the game. Don't try to make it sound like dirty play. Trammels drive down the middle was a foul, but definitely not intent to harm. Even you yourself said you could not see if an attempt at the ball was made, so why make such a bogus post? Dixie played an excellent game tonight and deserved the win. I'm sure if it was an intentional clothesline one of the 3 refs would have made the call.

Some of the boys from Dixie are very familiar with Downs and his play, played with him for years in AAU, this will be a great game to watch. The last time Boone played Dixie, it was without Downs AND Trammel had one of his better games of the year IMO. Looking forward to Saturday, it's going to be another close one.

Official book corrected the ref on two of the calls, one was the one mentioned that was on 25, and the ref changed it to 25 after it was brought to his attention, the other time he called a foul on 5, and there was no #5 on the court, he changed it to #15, believe that was his 4th foul by that time. Too much traffic on the 2nd foul they called on #15, table didn't see who it was. Back court was not established, as mentioned above, all three were not over the 1/2 court mark, only one foot and the ball when Boone threw it backwards.

If you want to show replays, go back to the traveling turnover call that was reversed in favor of Cooper because of the late time out called after the fact. Don't make this games outcome to be the fault of the ref, because they were off and on all night. Cooper Jaguars played so well and I would rather hear compliments on how much each one of those kids improved and played above what most people probably expected. Coach Sullivan has done a great job with this team, and IMO will continue to make Cooper into a winning program in the future.

He ended up with 20, game high. I have no doubt that he had the most rebounds in the game as well. I don't think that any of the other Cooper players were in double digits. They were getting after it tonight though, lots and lots of hustle and heart. Boone better wake up and get some fire in their belly, they seemed to struggle tonight getting going. A double Boone/Ryle district final (boys and girls), should be good games.

I don't think Hatton had an off night, it's just harder to shoot over a long armed defense. Hatton did a great job of penetrating to the elbow, getting through the lane and made some nice short jumpers. This was said to be one of Dixie's best games yet as a team effort, and if that's true, the region is wide open for a clear cut favorite. Pitts for the Rebels held his job down pretty well for most of the night, had a few costly mistakes in the second half, but he showed he can play when needed. Another player from the JV squad had good minutes to pick up the slack from missing players like Downs, Fookes, and Burgess, and of course Montgomery. The best part of the night was watching the football game between Brown and Pike down low. Trevan had 3 or 4 of his signature and 1 plays deleted because one ref kept calling the foul on the floor instead of a shooting foul, not a game changing call, but it does affect momentum. Districts and regional games will be a blast with no home court advantage.

Well last night, even the ones at their feet were left for CCH to pick up. No excuse, they need to get after it or sit down.

This game was decided on hustle by CCH and missed free throws by the Rebels. Coach M has got to have trust in his bench when certain players aren't performing well enough to help the team. Crabtree and Brown were unstoppable when they would get the ball down low, but once again forced shots from the outside and not getting the rebounds did the Rebels in. Give CCH credit, because they came to play and seemed to win every lose ball scramble, while the Rebels seemed to be stuck in the mud with brick hands. All in all the important thing is that I'm praying Travis did not do any extra damage to his knee and still will make a full recovery after surgery.

Ryle has had more than one win this year at home due to some controversial calls, no calls or style of calls by the crew they have. IMO the ones I have seen at Ryle are usually at Sports of All Sorts also doing recreation and middle school age games. IMO it looks like they're not quite ready for fast pace high school level games.

Not sure of the name, but aren't we talking about #55 for Beechwood.

Brown played through Eckymans defense and went through the night unfrustrated. Eckymans footwork could not keep up with Brown down low on moves to the basket. I will say Eckymans did force Brown to fight harder for block position, but once the ball was delivered it was either an easy two or a foul. The hard foul by Kruse ticked him Trevan little, but he managed to keep his composure and finised out with maybe two fouls himself unlike the last two games where he fouled out very early.

Cooper High School

I don't think you can find a person who has heard Trevan trash talk, he does ignore it. Unfortunately, this season, because teams have a difficult time guarding him, they are resorting to "cheating" and that has come in the form of pinching him (including his nipples), elbowing him in the gut and back and shoving him down low, most of the time, without a call from a ref. Just because Trevan is big and does not move when someone tries to run through him or push him around, doesn't mean it is not a foul. And, yes, I call it cheating because it has nothing to do with basketball. The best part of this game was what happened without Trevan and Travis on the court, the team rose above it and proved to themselves that they can do it without them when needed. If you have a chance, get to know Trevan, he is a great kid, student and athlete.

This is a first. Apparently you don't know Trevan Brown at all. There's a diffeence between frustration from playing into trash talk as to being frustrated from getting the heck beat out of you in the paint and not getting the call. I like to see Brown get fired up, because he's been a gentle giant the past few years. I think he scared the little ref more than he scared the Conner player. Maybe Trevan learned a lesson from that game and is moving on.

Come on Clyde get with it. That was in reference to your statement "You mean it's not 3 seconds when a team is rebounding their own missed shot ?". Or did you forget about that already? Maybe I was mistaking in thinking you were implying that Boone should have been called for a 3 second violation on some put back baskets, which did happen in the game on the Friday night in question. Are we on the same page yet?

Ask someone with knowledge about how 3 seconds is called and you too will be better educated as to why it's possible to rebound your own shot outside of just pure hustle and outworking your opponent. Got the rule from a very reputable ref myself not an OPINION!

It's just an opinion which doesn't change what a person thinks, uneducated, biased, or uninformed. My opinion it what it is, if I think a ref stinks at his job, then I am not afraid to let him know he did a bad job. If I stink at my job, I expect to receive the same criticism. I knew you wouldn't agree with my opinion on Boone being homered so I understand your disagreement. The ref made some bogus calls because a players only job in the game was to go in and push, tug and use aggressive antics to frustrate Brown. As he would fight for position back or try to get free from the player grabbing his arms which is your so=called flagrant foul the one ref would call the foul on Brown, lousy job. When a player is being treated like a punching bag underneath and can't get and obvious call, but is called for a little touch foul himself, it can be extremely frustrating. Trevan has been playing through it all year, and some refs allow it to go both ways, but Friday night it was simply one-sided. It was ridiculous and maybe you and the refs need to look at the game again to actually see how ridiculous it was. How many points did the kid have that was guarding him, I don't think he was an offensive threat at all, because his main job was to physically/mentally frustrate Brown (or anyone he was guarding) with some rough antics that should have been handled better by the poor ref staff. He did his job very well, but it wasn't playing basketball. I'll blame the refs when they deserve it and this time especially one ref was completely fooled through the entire game. It's the opinion of several in the stands, but it really doesn't matter because Conner still lost the game with Brown on the bench and they need to worry about more than a round III with Boone.
