  1. A definition of what constitutes a tournament game was requested and received. Morgan apparently didn't like the KHSAA's clarification as I am sure East and West didn't care for Morgan County ignoring the intent of the tie-breaker rules by insisting it applied only if two teams were tied. There was no "home cooking." The KHSAA decided the question. Live with it. The rule regarding won-loss percentage was ridiculous anyway. It promotes weak scheduling.
  2. What a revolting turn of events for Eta Rho. Elliott foils his predictions of gloom and doom and Boone County spoils his Holmes' run of the table.
  3. Great win for Elliott. Evan Faulkner had a huge night in front of his future college coaches. Tonight it was the penetration of Elliott's guards that gave Mason County fits. Good defensive job by Ethan on Middleton, even if he did get 20. He worked for all of them. Elliott did a much better job in the second half on the boards and that was a big factor. Ferguson turned ina very workmanlife performance and T. Knipp more than held his own while spending an unusual amount of time inside. Mason is an excellent team and we will probably see them again in March.
  4. I believe in the 62nd it is: 1. Head-to-head 2. Margin of victory between the tied teams 3. Overall winning percentage, excluding tournaments
  5. Shelby Valley is a top 5 team and they would give anybody fits in a ten game series. Elliott did not play well for 3 quarters but SV had a lot to do with that. They are big and athletic and the point guard (Justice) has to be one of the top juniors in the state. Give credit where it is due.
  6. :thumb::clap::laugh::laugh::laugh:
  7. I don't think this one will be played tonight. Snow wins again!
  8. Absolutely! I feel certain that if Elliott survives today, things will get much tougher with Shelby Valley. They didn't shoot well last night, but it is obvious Justice is a player and the front line is huge.
  9. Amen Spindoc. :thumb: The whining never stops. This is a state tournament. Some people need to quit whining and step their game up.
  10. Elliott played very good defense and Whitefield was totally in shell shock after the first two minutes. Starters played 1st and 3rd quarters entirely. Other than that substitutions were liberal. Whitefield simply couldn't score even with Elliott in a very loose 2-3 zone in the second half.
  11. Calvary Christian gave this one away in the last 9 seconds. The long pass led to a completely off balance layup attempt, which was missed and a contested put back attempt, also missed. No reason whatsoever to shoot either shot. They were up one and Pineville would have had to foul. Unexplainable. Neither team looked to score at all in this game and when they did shoot it, the results were very often not good.
  12. Hope all the other teams view it just like you do!
  13. :thumb::thumb:Nice article and it all seems to add up!
  14. I was there, but I'm not sure what difference that makes.
  15. I did not know you had to see a team before they might be considered good.
  16. I know how good they are. I watched them. Three of those teams are high quality anywhere and the fourth is darn good.
  17. This is the first time I remember ever seeing a thread turn into questioning a school's report of scoring numbers for a player. It probably wouldn't have happened if Ferguson played anywhere but Elliott County. Rest assured the point totals have been checked and are correct. I am sure Dale will be more than happy to put some of your minds at ease when he gets back on here. Amazing!
  18. I can assure you my opinion is not based on "how closely someone played Elliott." I have seen East and West play other games besides Elliott County. My opinion is based on the season, not one or two games. My season is also based upon the attitude and heart that the teams play with. East has seemed to have issues this year involving chemistry and identity. The conquered these problems for one game. It remains to be seen if the issues have been put to rest. If so, East will quickly move to the second spot in the region. West plays hard and aggressively every night. They will be a tough draw for anyone in the postseason.
  19. None of the posters from Elliott County are predicting a cakewalk to the Semi's. This will be a toough tournament from start to finish. Rankings mean nothing.
  20. And I'm just saying those out of state teams compare pretty well to some of the better teams in Kentucky and those wins should not be discounted when determining rankings.:irked:
  21. I would have to put West #2, followed by East and Rose Hill. While the Hill has a fine core of young players, they were just not impressive at all in the "A" finals and the guard play is mediocre at best.
  22. Throw rankings out the window when a tournament begins. Elliott is tourney tested from the BBC, but they have to play well for four straight games to take this one. I am hoping for an Elliott win, but anything can happen and SV and 2-3 other teams are fully capable of winning this thing.
