  1. Your comments clearly indicate you were not at the game. After the game one of the officials even asked me if I knew what West was trying to pull. All starters were out by a two shot free throw at the 3 minute mark and I know Logan quite well. In fact, he tried to do the same thing in last year's game at Elliott but it wasn't as blatant.
  2. Elliott by whatever they want to make it.
  3. Wow! Back to back BIG wins for Elliott. Congrations to the Lady Lions!
  4. Lewis County was missing a starting guard, not that it would have mattered. No stats yet. In an earlier game East Carter dominated Rowan County. Rowan could not handle any pressure at all and flat out cannot shoot.
  5. Final. No contest. Timmy Knipp shot the ball well and Ferguson and the Faulkners played well. Long year in Vanceburg.
  6. What a wonderul win for Elliott! The staff and players have come a long way.
  7. It was, and then he called a "T" on the offensive player for putting his hands on his head!
  8. What kind of statement is that?:irked:
  9. Rayborn played well. He is a good shooter and went to the boards more than I thought he would. With some strength he will become a solid player.
  10. That did seem to the mentality of a couple of players, particularly Logan (#5), however, the majority of West's players just played a tough game and tried to make it as physical as possible. The problem was that they are not as strong as Elliott at all and it did not work. As to my earlier post concerning the referees, they allowed it to get carazy in the 1st couple of minutes and after the "love huddle" it settled down some. Two were experienced...Ramey, who did a good job, and Paul Lewis who could not keep up with the pace of play at all. The third guy, whose name I don't know, was younger and made the made some ridiculous calls, including a technical when made the call while standing behind the two experienced officials who had the situation in hand. Elliott held their composure well. West will have a good season. They need to drop the bullying tactics. They are a good enough team without that garbage.
  11. West seemed to have a game plan of nothing but rough play, but Elliott held their composure. Elliott had a 30 point lead halfway through the 4th quarter when they pulled the starters. The refs completely lost control of this one early in the game. Ferguson had 35 and 8 rebounds. Ethan Faulkner had 21 and Evan Faulkner had 14. Knipp stayed in ffoul trouble and ididn't play over a quarter and and half. Very ugly game.
  12. They must play the District games and take care of business. The schedule gets tougher with South Charleston and the BBC coming up, and people need to quit overlooking East Carter. They are a very solid team this year and would be the clear Regional favorite absent Elliott County.
  13. In light of Menifee's win over Rowan County, this doesn't seem like such a big win for the Tomcats.
  14. Timmy Knipp had a ton of blocked shots and made good decisions with the ball. He plyed with a lot more heart and intensity. Looks like he grew up a lot over the summer. This will only add a new dimension to Elliott County's already loaded team.
  15. Holmes got beat by a good team. Take your medicine. Everybodies schedule has some easy games and some tough ones. No reason to take shots at schools not even involved in this game.
  16. 16th Region AD's wouldn't be too happy losing the gate Elliott County brings. They play a tough enough schedule with the BBC, Anderson County, Mason County and the Class A. They will play their "weak" schedule and still be alright at tournament time.
  17. If Madisonville wins that region, it is either a very weak region, or Madisonville got a lot better. Not too many one player teams make it to Lexington.
  18. Good analysis. Jackson was clearly Scott's best player. They may have played down to the competition a little, but this game should have been a rout. Hood will be a nice addition to UK. He can play but MNH requires him to be everything from a PG to the post man. The other kids seemed afraid to handle the ball or shoot until he was out of the game. Elliott should clearly dominate in the 16th. The only issue may be depth, but Mays seemed to sub alot more last night, so I guess he is working on it.
  19. Elliott played solid defense. Hood is the real deal, but he has no help whatsoever. Elliott has clearly improved greatly over the summer and has gotten much stronger. Timmy Knipp has made a marked improvement and looked good last night. The twins have bulked up quite a bit and Evan looked particualy solid on"D". Ferguson is a brute who is really hitting his shots. Ethan Faulkner has got to be one of the top 2 or 3 point guards in the state. East is clearly the #2 team in the 16th, but it is a distant 2nd.
  20. Elliott County looked very strong in beating Madisonville 90-54. Ferguson, the Faulkners, and Timmy Knipp were all very effective. Don't have any stats. Hood is the real deal, but he has absolutley no help at all. Scott County looked very beatable in their game. Logan, West Virginia, was not that strong, but Scott County shot the ball poorly, with the exception of Euton, who shot well in the 1st half, but did little in the second.
  21. Are we really predicting scores of scrimmages?
  22. The goal does not count. That rule was changed many years ago in high school. In answer to another question Elliott County returns all starters and every sub that played much with the exception of Keith Centers who played 5-7 minutes per game.
