  1. It appears Lexington Catholic needs lights. There have been a lot of dark outs for them ending in ties.
  2. I just heard the score but don't have details. Big upset!
  3. How on Earth do you not touch home plate??
  4. I meant to say it's a shame that only two teams come out of the district....it was late. My prediction is that the bye helps LCA and they get out, and Tates Creek also advances.
  5. What a shame that only one team comes out of this district.
  6. Dalton West - C, Apollo 36 for 76 (.474) 13 2b, 1 HR, 28 RBI
  7. Morrow is doing pretty well. He's got a nice stick and is hitting about .320 with 5 HR's. The story for that Apollo team is their Freshman catcher Dalton West. The kid is hitting nearly .500 and has started every game. He's going to be an absolute force - the kind of dominance in that region of the state as Maile has shown in Northern Kentucky since his sophomore year.
  8. From what I have heard, he's doing pretty well. Hitting in the middle of the order and playing third.
  9. He is a good player. I think it was only about a week ago actually. It has seemed like longer with all this rain.
  10. McCombs is having a down year. Fogle broke his ankle a few weeks ago.
  11. Fidanza is remarkable, and is immensely talented, but I think Maile is more consistent and has a more polished approach to the game - and he's older, which helps.
  12. I would have to think that Maile is the frontrunner right now.
  13. LCA should be ranked number one next time. However, PRP was missing a few seniors for Prom. Harper threw vs. LCA but I think he was the only Senior there for them.
  14. It's been an amazing spring....I can't recall this much rain
  15. Hooray! I am right!
  16. Definitely true - you should always deliver the pitch to avoid these types of situations. However, coming from someone who was there, the call should not have been a balk.
  17. It actually wasn't a balk. No member of the offense can induce a balk. The batter stepped out of the box as if he had called time; the umpire didn't grant him time and the ball was live. However, the pitcher didn't throw the pitch because he was under the impression that time had been called. This is a classic example of an induced balk. The batter wasn't trying to induce a balk, but he DID - Hammons' only reason for not throwing the pitch was because he saw the batter step out. If this was legal, batters would try this type of thing all the time in order to score runs, or move the runners over. The balk call should have been a non-call. The umpire should have not allowed anything to happen.
  18. A lot of rain this morning and heavy rain predicted for this evening. Saturday looks better though.
  19. It happens, and depending on the rules, affects the eligibility of the player or coach in the following game.
