  1. Don't worry about doing homework, bud. I've done plenty. Tates Creek has a great nucleus and should challenge the city, as it should every year. I think they have the best core group of kids that they've had in the past couple years. Last year they didn't seem to be able to get over the fact that Blodgett nor Kingsley weren't healthy for the whole season. They have a very good makeup this season, but aren't as deep on the mound as maybe would be ideal. Mitchell should be a good key to the staff, and they have the talent all over....but they have no track record for making talent succeed Bryan Station is a wildcard, and is by no means an easy pick to win. However, their pitching depth goes farther than their seniors, and they could wind up winning some tight ballgames late in the year. It's a matter of how the new coach allows the team to develop....however, as we all know, anything can happen. Riddle and Queen are unquestionably Hills' best players. While they do have a supporting cast, they are not at all deep enough to make a big impact in the region. They will win games, I just don't think they can match up with the depth of LCA, Tates Creek and BS. I'm sure coach Poynter will do a fine job with Dunbar, though I think they're somewhat down this season. Eggenschweiler should be a good guy to watch, though I don't think his left handed stick will lead them to a title. But who knows. I could go on and on, but I don't think anyone is interested and I'm tired. Just don't accuse me of not doing homework.....I mean it's been 20+ years since I've done any of the real stuff
  2. Bryan Station and Lexington Christian seem to be the tops in my mind. Top Pitchers: (off the top of my head) Sherrow - Woodford, Boiling and Bollmer - Bryan Station, Riddle - W Hills, Stice - Lafayette, Williams - Lex Cath, Johnson - LCA
  3. Bud Morton at West Jessamine is the best player in the 12th - I think
  4. I liked the semi-state format. It gave the better "team" a better shot at winning a 3-game series. As has been mentioned before, it seems that this could heavily favor teams with one "stud" But I do like the fact that more baseball gets to be spotlighted at Applebee's and more kids get the opportunity to experience the state tournament stage
  5. pretty good list Lucas Witt LCA (OF, P) Zyler Cosby TC (MIF) Connor Asay Lafayette (P, MIF) Michael Shornick LC ©
  6. PG Crosschecker is not a science, and not every player goes through the Perfect Game system. There are many times guys that get missed by PG and sometimes they over-hype players. I don't think we should read too much into it for the 2010 class
  7. Probably could put Michael Buschmann from Henry Clay in there too with Henzman. There are a lot of good players in the state!
  8. Whatever happened to Scott Grizzle after graduation?
  9. fine. it's just a list. nobody's going to have the correct one....just food for thought since most people can't see everyone in the state
  10. just a preliminary list to start some discussion.... Brandon Alphin – Bullitt East (P, SS) Chris Berry – Trinity (SS) Brandon Boiling - Bryan Station (P) Jared Clarkson – Shelby County (OF) Shane Crain – Lexington Christian (IF, P, C) Tyler Dunaway – Eastern (P) John Fidanza – Ballard © Nick Hawkinson – Apollo (OF, P) Trey Harper – PRP (P) Logan Jackson – Tates Creek (C, 3B) Sam Kidd – Ohio County (P, OF) Corey Littrell – Trinity (LHP) Billy Logan – Greenup © Luke Maile – Covington Cathloic © Zach McCarthy – Bullitt East (OF) Curtis McCombs – Ballard (P, 3B) Tanner Perkins – Rockastle Co (LHP) Gabe Pirtle – Henderson County (OF) JT Riddle – Western Hills (SS, P) Cole Sturgeon – Owensboro (OF, LHP)
  11. with AJ Smith and Snyder, I would see Beechwood being able to make some noise.
  12. Henry Clay isn't going to be a factor this year. Lost too many good players and are extremely young.
  13. I've got a for fun preseason top 25 players that I'm gonna post tomorrow
  14. Grayson should be good on the mound....I like the young guys Spalding and Pelham. Gonna be hard to replace Amlung....Sweeney will be key as well
  15. Lafayette should have some really good young talent....they probably won't have enough leadership to get them extremely far, but I would suspect them to be a fun team to watch develop over the next couple seasons. Bryan Station should have some interesting potential with two of the best pitchers in the City in Bollmer and Boiling. I don't know about their entire team's makeup.
  16. yeah, that's what I figured, but it seems to be a NKY dominated board. Which is fine, but it would be nice to have representation be a little more even. The state has good baseball all over
  17. that's actually supposed to be Curtis McCombs, not Chris. Chris just graduated from IU last year. That list is from the KHSBCA site
