flowmiddle29 Posted May 10, 2009 Posted May 10, 2009 Remember, due to Lexington public schools not playing Lexington Catholic, the seedings for this tournament are determined through a blind draw. Out of the past six years, four state champions have come out of this district, with another, Lafayette, taking runner-up in 2004. This is hands down the state's toughest district. SEEDS 1) Lexington Christian Academy (#2 in KY) 2) Lexington Catholic (#9 in KY) 3) Tates Creek (#3 in KY) 4) Paul Laurence Dunbar 5) Lafayette (#24 in KY) Winner of #4 and #5 game will play LCA, who recieved the first round bye. Winner of #2 and #3 game will play the winner of the game above. THIS IS GOING TO BE FUN!!!!!
The Engineer Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 What a shame that only one team comes out of this district.
Theoldguy Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 What a shame that only one team comes out of this district. Did you mean to say, that it is a shame that only one team comes out of each bracket, because two teams move on to the region from this district and every district and I am rather sure that you know that Engineer! :thumb: And it is a shame that some district are so good that some quality teams get knocked out of the tourney so early, because their district is so heavy with outstanding talent, while other districts have two team moving up that wouldn't win a game in another district. But it is, what it is!

My prediction is that the bye helps LCA and they get out, and Tates Creek also advances.
EARLE Posted May 11, 2009 Posted May 11, 2009 All five teams in the 43rd have won at least one state championship. Lafayette (3) '88, '89, and '92 (state runner-up in '04). Tates Creek (3) '78, 80, and '86. Paul Dunbar (2) '03 and '07. Lex. Catholic (2) '99 and '06. Lex. Christian (1) 2005.
flowmiddle29 Posted May 11, 2009 Author Posted May 11, 2009 Since 2003, the worst a team has done coming out of this district is the state final four, which happened last year with Lexington Catholic
