This is the first time that Ryle matches up physically with T since I've been following Raider football. I know that T is extremely solid on D and the best D Ryle has faced. I would think it's a fairly low-scoring contest decided late.

Kudos to Coach Engler for beefing up the schedule while building the program over the past 11 years. The Raiders no longer have to overcome the intimidation factor of facing the big 3 as in the past. They took their lumps vs St X the past 4-5 years while scheduling them annually. Then, they played a great game to whip X in the playoffs this year. Trinity will be the best defense that Ryle has faced this year. I see a dogfight that could go either way. Looking forward to the matchup at Kroger. Go Raiders, beat Rocks!

Congrats to Ryle on another running clock victory. Congrats to Great Crossing on an excellent season. I did not expect a running clock in the rematch, but GC had trouble throwing the ball.

Mental toughness required to hang on to the football and adjust to cold weather play on a frigid Friday. Looking forward to the contest at Borland Stadium. My biggest adjustment will be to stop flinching when the cannon is fired. It gets me every time - lol!

I don't see a trap or letdown. GC beat Manual. Enough said. A high energy and hungry Raiders team welcomes the Warhawks, who have had a solid season.

Welcome to Ryle aka Union West for a 6A state semifinal matchup that no one would have predicted at the beginning of the season or even at the beginning of the playoffs. GC traveled to Borland Stadium in October and went back to Georgetown with a 36-8 loss. Both teams are playing well with GC taking down Manual in Round 2 and Ryle destroying St. X in that same round. The quarterfinal matchups for both teams were clock runners. The Raiders will not be lulled into thinking the rematch will be a cakewalk. What are your thoughts about this contest Friday night at Ryle?

What a great win by the Blue Colonels. EE and the staff prepared well and the kids believed and executed as a team. Mental toughness personified to go down to Danville and beat a heavily favored opponent that had throttled you a year earlier. Give Eddie a heckuva lot of credit.

When you forget the boom is coming, it scares old people.. lol. You can feel the power and reverberation throughout the stadium.

Congrats to CAL after getting whipped by Central during the regular season.

Ryle's Jaden Galicia takes the opening kickoff 95 yards to the house. Raiders coast to the running clock victory. The only mystery was the surprise onside kick after Ryle's opening TD that backfired and gave the Bruins the ball at the Raider 22. Jacob Savage played defense only tonight. Galicia did a nice job taking the carries at RB. Nate Verax threw a lot of nice balls on the drizzly night and had several passing TDs. Congrats to Ryle on moving on to the semis to host Great Crossing next Friday night.

Joe would be an outstanding choice. I do think SK needs a young coach with head coaching experience. Joe fits that need. I'm sure Mason Co would hate to lose him.

Ryle certainly benefits from rounds 3 and 4 at home without facing a perennial juggernaut again after dismantling St X. The Raiders are playing with great confidence. They will be in a dogfight on 12/7 instead of a blowout if they take care of business the next two Friday nights.

In TP94 ratings I trust. Ryle has a unique opportunity to rest their best player if circumstances warrant.

The Central Hardin Bruins, an unlikely round 3 guest, make the jaunt up 71 to NKY to face the Raiders. Their hopes revolve around FB Seth Laudermilt, a 240# workhorse. Can Ryle slow him down? If so, it will be a long night for CH if they try to play catch up vs. the Raiders. I'm not sure about the status of Jacob Savage, who appeared to suffer a lower leg injury. His last play against St X was a 2-yard run on fourth down that started the running clock. Anything to talk about here as I know nothing about Central Hardin? Thoughts?

Ryle, Frederick Douglass, and Trinity seemed destined to make the final 8. How about Central Hardin, Barren County, Great Crossing, Madison Central and Ballard to complete the field? Count me shocked. Ryle gains the RPI top spot with the Great Crossing upset of DuPont Manual. I would guess that simplifies the Raider path to Kroger Field. Thoughts?

The big difference is the ability to pass the ball effectively that they did not have in 2006. Pass rush is also far superior this year, and Jacob Savage is a force on both sides of the ball.

This outcome shocks me a lot more than Ryle beating X. Congrats to Great Crossing on the colossal upset.

The Raiders have amped it up several notches as the season progresses. We certainly hope that the injury to Jacob Savage is minor. Ryle has a bunch of really tough ballers but Jacob is the unquestioned leader on offense and defense. His 80-yard TD run on the first play from scrimmage where he even outran the safety with an angle was impressive along with his Superman 5-yard flight into the end zone. The Raiders will remain humble and hungry. Congrats to them on the big second-round win. Nice season for St X, yet disappointing for them.

I felt Ryle would win by 3 in a close game. That was an incredible first half. Thankfully, we can rest Jacob Savage rather than him gutting it out in the second half.
