Ryle, Frederick Douglass, and Trinity seemed destined to make the final 8. How about Central Hardin, Barren County, Great Crossing, Madison Central and Ballard to complete the field? Count me shocked. Ryle gains the RPI top spot with the Great Crossing upset of DuPont Manual. I would guess that simplifies the Raider path to Kroger Field. Thoughts?

Tonight's results do make Ryle's path to Kroger Field less complicated.

Can anyone beat Trinity?

If Ryle continues to play like they did last night, yes. Not saying they will but I do believe, personally, they can play with and beat Trinity.

I really thought this was Manuel’s year.  GC proved how little I know.  Time to get fully on the Ryle train as I just don’t see Trinity’s passing game strong enough to win it all.

I agree. This season’s Ryle football team has been Northern Kentucky’s best and most balanced team since the six class alignment began. There’s been other NKY 6A teams that were good and some players had really good talent on different teams, but Ryle has the best chance of bringing the 6A state championship to NKY at the end of this season than any of the others had overall.

As much as I would love to see it happen I think Douglas and Trinity might be a little better. Good luck Raiders!

I think I like Ryle a little better than Douglass and Trinity a little better than Ryle.

Maybe but I don’t believe that changes that Ryle has NKY’s best chance of it since the state went to a six class alignment.

If all 3 of these teams win this week then Trinity and FD will be playing in the final four.

Ryle certainly benefits from rounds 3 and 4 at home without facing a perennial juggernaut again after dismantling St X. The Raiders are playing with great confidence. They will be in a dogfight on 12/7 instead of a blowout if they take care of business the next two Friday nights.
