LOL Just an FYI All of the above you mentioned are hold backs, with exception of the Fugate kid and him I know nothing about and am not going to clam I do unlike you. Sounds like you might just have a personal problem with the Davenport kid, only assuming to know his situation when you obviously don't. LOL

Good points. Why not give a kid every chance. Those first 17-18 years are the most critical in a young persons life. It's our duty as parents to give a child every chance in life to get them off to the right start. Ask any parent who's held back a kid and they will tell you how much of a diffence it makes in how they mature and grades greatly improve. I have coached and delt with kids who have started school late due to the way their birthday falls. Boys especially start maturing late and could care less about studies. I've seen first hand how a year makes a difference in a kids attitude, attention span, a willingness to learn. I know from experience myself going off to college at 17 is very difficult and challenging to stay focused when your out on your own. This is bad off topic, so that's all I have to say about that.

Did you say you were a Bobcat Fan?? When does true Freshman apply to HS football? Are you trying to downgrade his talent because he's been held back or do you have some other motive? I'm sure other kids that have been held back on the Bobcat team, or other teams, wouldn't appreciate you questioning their talent or accomplishments because they are "not true". Shawn Robbins had a great career at Bell Co. High School and nobody's disreguarding that, but ain't it a little sad to be putting down another player that maybe the fans can have hope in for part of the future of Bell Co. Football? Davenport has a lot of talent/heart and will be a great asset in the full package back field in the future and I don't think that you should be talking about "Studs" coming in and putting him down, especially another "untrue freshman" in Polly. A true Fan hopes that all the above mentioned can help carry the load as great players for the future of the Bobcats, not trying to pick one out to praise and one out to disrespect. :mad:

The opinions from Corbin mean little. Now that, that, is out of the way, KC played one great game. I knew all week we were in for a fight. Congrats to the KC team and their hard fought effort. I look forward to them being another power in the mountains in the forth coming years. They showed a lot of character, as did Bell in the game Friday night. Mills is a chip off the ole block. Good job KC & Go Bobcats!!!!!!

Unlike northern teams, these boys here in Bell all live within 15-20 miles from each other and are not just a team, they are a family. It's all for one and one for all in this part of the state. They grew up together, went to grade school together, hunt together, have 10 and 12 boys at a time camping and having sleep overs. They are like brothers, not some from around town or from the next town brought in to build a team. The underclassmen are eager for their starters to get out of the weather or whatever as to remain healthy and be prepared and focused on the ultimate prize. The films are broken down as a team and even sent home with the kids to watch themselves. No one leaves early or misses a film breakdown. These coaches will break down a position and make sure the starter all the way down to the freshman understand the responsibility of that particular position. Football in the mountains is a family sport, not a team sport. :fire:

Bell will take it easy and not risk an injury. The mercy rule will be implemented very quick to get us out of the rain. Does your wife let you talk at home HouseofPain? hehe jk

Yes, Corey, the younger did. The elder, Cody, caught some good long passes.

The QB for Somerset was the biggest standout. He has a very impressive line also that kept him protected for the most part of the first half. He got off some good passes to some very talented recievers that seem to find the right spots in Bell's secondary. Somehow Bell figured out how to overcome the line in the second half and the BJ's resorted to running the ball. This was the first time I seen them play, and was impressed. I left in the middle of the 4th and it was 38-7 Bell but I take no credit away from SS. They will be strong IMO in the next year or two with the developing talent I saw. Now to Bell. Ben Madon is looking better at QB every day and his favorite receiver, the elder Davenport can seem to snag it wherever he throws it to. The Brown kid, I think his name is Joshua, is a real head hunter and I've seen him get some varsity time. Scott Henderson is another that's really starting to shine, and the younger Davenport has unbelievable brake-a-way speed once he cuts back. Boy the future is bright on the mountain.

I watched the JV game tonight and I have to admit, Somerset has got some atheletes. The QB is an up and comming star with that arm. Good job by those Bobcats!:thumb:

Don't know much about Churchill Volunteer. Anybody have any insight or predictions? Bell stepped it up somewhat against Rock, but IMO is still struggling on the passing game. They look like they can go really deep with the running game though. They look pretty banged up with ankle and shoulder injuries.
