  1. It is late, that one did slip my mind. You are correct as usual.
  2. Oh my, FC couldn't find a player that wanted to make a tackle - almost a complete refusal by some to play tackle football. I have been around FC football for only 10 short years and have watched many great wins and a few disappointing losses. I can't recall any team hanging 50 plus on Fort Campbell. (The scary thing is that Kenwood is not a good football program, they probably won't even finish with a winning record) This game was an embarrassment to the FC legacy. Not the loss - taking a loss is part of the game, but the overall lack of fight, pride, fortitude or team character. This loss is not about injured players like Tre Powell not being available, which is one of the excuses we used in the loss to CPA. It is about team character or the lack there of.
  3. Congrats to Todd County, nice to see them winning in Elkton.
  4. I posted early in the week that those receivers were pretty big and had good hands. CPA QB is solid all they lack is a RB. Well, I guess CPA has some pretty good bragging rights; beating two defending KY state champs in consecutive weeks. I was cheering for LCA to get it done tonight.
  5. The public record will forever reflect your loyalty, I mean your error, (just kidding)
  6. Same here, don't even know if I could find Wayne County on the map. I am going with the MC Falcons to win by a couple of TD's. Good Luck Falcons!
  7. FC beats Kenwood by at least two TD's. It has taken some time, (two scrimmages at the Jamboree & a forgettable first half in Nashville against CPA), but this young Falcons team is clicking and ready for Kenwood. Any matchup between FC and Kenwood in normally spirited to say the least on all levels from Freshman to Varsity. I expect the game to be competitive through a quarter and a half and then FC will start to close the deal on the Knights. "Blackout Game" to open the new era on the Fryar Stadium field turf. Can't wait to see the black jerseys. It has been forever since FC has played a game where they were not ranked # 1 in the BGP polls. Watch for the Falcons to come out and play with a mean streak.
  8. 7-Union County 5-Greenwood 3-Franklin-Simpson 2-Meade County 1-Butler County TB-Union County
  9. I am taking Franklin in this one by at least 2 TDs. Franklin, TN will be an opponent on a different level compared to Hoptown's opener against Paducah Tilghman.
  10. Congrats Monroe County Falcons! MC is deserving of the #1 ranking and has paid the dues to earn it. Has MC found a replacement for Neil Wilson any let down with his graduation? He always seemed to be everywhere during the game - somebody always had to account for him both on O and D.
  11. I can only hope that the memory provides motivation and purpose for the rest of the season.
  12. I am going with LCA in this one as they are the last chance to preserve some Kentucky pride in the series with CPA this season. We simply can't allow a TN school to beat 2 defending KY state champs in consecutive weeks. CPA is a solid and very disciplined football team, but not exceptional. They are primarily a pass only team and run very little. Their QB is tough, strong, accurate and a solid player. He took a beating from FC, but he continued to get up after every hit. On a couple of occasions, FC's defense did not play to the whistle and allowed the QB to get a desperation pass off instead of taking him to the ground. CPA has some very good receivers in the 6'2" to 6'4" range. They are not exceptionally fast, but will catch every pass and will give 5'9" or 5'10" DBs fits. FC lost a very winnable game to CPA on a 40 yard FG in the first half and allowing a huge KO return to start the second half. They acted like they won the BCS National Championship after beating FC. I was wondering if they were going to tear the goal posts down in celebration. LCA does not want that same embarrassing scene repeated in Lexington. The key to the game is special teams, DB coverage of the big receivers, taking the QB to the ground and playing until the whistle blows. After the game win or lose, you will not find a nicer bunch of people than those from CPA. They served our team a post game meal and demonstrated nothing but the greatest in sportsmanship and hospitality. Good Luck LCA! LCA 21 CPA 16
  13. Fort Campbell and NCC at PJCS in the 2008 2A State Title game. FC trailed NCC in the final few minutes of the game: Antonio Andrews hits Tre Powell for a long pass play down the sideline for a TD to seemingly win the game. Penalty called on FC receiver Chris Allen for motion and the play was nullified. NCC fans and players are going wild and getting ready to dump the Gatorade on their coach. Next play from 65 yards out in the final 90 seconds and running out of options, an unflenching Antonio Andrews takes the snap, pitches the ball to JD Erwin who rolls right and then passes back across the field to Andrews. Andrews catches the ball on about the 50 and jukes or out runs the entire 'Breds defense to the house. "Back to Back" That is the best game and final sequence of plays I have ever personally witnessed.
  14. This has been brewing for a couple of days, here are the first media reports. http://bgdnwkublog.wordpress.com/author/nbaumgardner/ http://wkdzsports.typepad.com/sportsbytes/2010/08/mr-football-antionio-andrews-transfers-to-western-kentucky-university.html
  15. Congrats to the Tigers! Has Hoptown improved that much or did PT go back to playing football as they were prior to starting their magical mystery tour to the state title with six L's?
  16. Congrats to the Colonels. I saw Tandy last week at the Ft. Campbell Jamboree where in two scrimmages he scored three TDs and had an interception. He is a lot of fun to watch and if he gets a little open space, he will go to the house very quickly.
  17. We are without Tre Powell, a starting defensive end and also the starting running back was out for the CPA game. Three vital players that I hope get healthy and back on the field sooner than later. Powell is the best player on the team; leading tackler, KO / Punt return, All-State receiver. He was the best player on the team last season also, and that is saying a lot considering team mate Antonio Andrews was selected Mr. Football.
  18. Alcoa is the real deal, probably not the team to schedule unless you want to get humbled. They are a small to medium school in Tennessee, but would lay the hammer down on most KY schools, including those in NKY. UK's Randall Cobb is an example of the caliber of players that go through Alcoa's program.
