As soon as the fences are finished and the field is painted. I’m painting the R tonight and we are striping the field. I don’t think the track surface will be done by Friday but that’s ok.

Fleming County upset GC last year in what many were calling a trap game. Greenup defeated Russell last year for the first time ever at Russell and were looking forward to meeting Raceland. This year, I believe, GC has a better mindset and will be ready for Fleming. What say you?

Raceland is coming into this one a little ticked off after losing last week. It’s the home opener in a newly renovated complex (except our fieldhouse) and in our all gray uniforms & it’s JFL night. Our team will be regrouped and focused. Raceland wins this one.

Congratulations to Coach Grizzle and the team on a historic victory.

Anyone who questioned how our defensive front 7 would play after losing 5 seniors should know by now after the first 2 games. We held the speedsters of Ashland to 49 yards on 21 carries. The majority of the passing yards came on 4 plays, 2 covering 164 yards and 2 TD’s. We will not face this type of speed again this year except Beechwood, if we are fortunate enough to make it back to Lexington.

I feel very good about our team. I am excited for the rest of the season.

Congratulations to the Tomcats. They played a much better second half. We had our chances but Ashland made big plays when they had to.
