The Cardinals (2-0) slipped a spot in the rankings, despite impressive wins over Union City and Hopkinsville. PT (2-0) has a couple of impressive wins of their own - lopsided victories over McCracken County (35-6) and Liberty Tech (35-0). Mayfield's 12 game win streak in the series has given them a 48-46-10 lead in the all time series.

I think Mayfield wins by more than 2TD's.

Mayfield may very well win, it's just probably not gonna be by the recipe that has worked so far.

 

Through the first 2 games, Mayfield has literally lived off the big play. Not that there is anything wrong with scoring any way you can, but at some point they will have to sustain some drives.

 

Tilghman's defense is very good and extremely fast on the back end. Big plays will be more of a premium in this game.

 

After watching film, I believe it will be tough on Mayfield to handle the OLine from Tilghman. Tilghman rushed for I believe over 320 yards in this game last season.

 

This year's version is better in every area by a decent margin. Turnovers played a huge part in the margin of victory in this game last year and basically all of Tilghman's games. Multiple changes have made a big impact in that area this year.

 

I know Mayfield will still hit some big plays, but I feel Tilghman matches up very well at every area on the field except quarterback. Tilghman will have to get at least some version of a passing game going.

 

I believe we are in for a good rivalry game. Give me Tilghman 35-28.

Mayfield 28-7

PT could have a shot, but they are going to have to have their best week of practice.

The run game is intact and will be ok, but as the UC game proves you'll have a hard time beating Mayfield being one-dimensional.

The Liberty game was good for the 1st half when they stuck to the wishbone, but the 2nd half amounted to passing practice, which wasn't very sharp.

PT will have to clean that up this week in order to get past the Cards.

PT 28-27

By scores alone, you would think PT gets the nod, but I would argue MF has played a tougher 2 game slate. Offensively, PT has a MUCH better run game, but MF easily has a better pass game. Both defenses seem pretty even. Chance of rain Friday, so I say if its sloppy PT wins, if conditions are good MF pass game prevails.

Mayfield 28-21.

I look forward to seeing the result of this one and watching the tape. I really think Paducah Til May be a team that can make some noise in the playoffs. This game will help both teams. I’m going Mayfield 28-21in a close one.

I think this should be a good game this year. PT may pull the upset but they will have to be balanced on offense to do it. If not, Mayfield will likely pull away late in the game as they are known for against past opponents to play them one dimensionally.

I'm just going to say one thing. Don't forget get where PT has to play. If this were in Paducah I'd say they might could pull it off. But they have to come down to War Memorial. Not too many teams have come down there beat Mayfield as of late. I guess beating a bad McCracken team makes you legit, I guess. Anyways, have a blessed day, guys.
