From everything I hear, Russell and Boyd Co. are in for a lot of lon-n-n-n-n-ng years, based on feeder programs.

Preseason basketball gets underway this Saturday at Paris High and I believe Paris Middle Schools. Any thoughts on matchups?

LOL!! No...the region. Only have 2 seniors, but a good group of freshmen and sophomores. Remember the names of Adam Wing, Jason Egan and Brett Tackett of the freshman class.

He did the 16th region tourney and was very good. The ladies....not so much.

That part is a fact. This guy knows the game...lives, eats, and sleeps the game. Lots of young (freshmen and sophs) talent here. This bunch could be top 5-6 by March.

I guess since Ashland, Russell, Raceland, and Elliott Co. all have 2 players in the top 10 (or should have according to some), they should probably be expected to win the regional championship?? And for what its worth, Jennifer Brockman was unguardable in the regional championship when she decided to go to the basket, and is probably the best on the ball defender in the 16th.

That's exactly what coaches do! Can't have 40 kids on a team...it's not middle school w/ equal playing time rules. What if the other kids had already made their time in the mile, and their 40's? You don't hold up team selection waiting for someone to get into shape, especially for someone who hasn't played organized basketball for 2 years, which has its own set of circumstances/repurcussions.

Not in the 16th...and not with the volume and frequency of RH. Maybe only Scott Co. can match RH in this area.

Now everyone can complain to the CP, b/c writers from each region do the preview. Mark Maynard from Ashland Daily Independent does the 16th, and on the boys side, he included a boy that graduated and one that hasn't played in 2 years as impotant factors for one team on the boys side!!

Care to handicap that possible event? Might be a good fundraiser!

That's insane. Kentucky basketball begins on the first Monday after Thanksgiving. Last year that was 11/26. 11 days ....? lol! And if you start on 11/15, 2 days are lost right off the bat for Thanksgiving.

I've seen Euton play several times. I don't see what the fuss is about. My guess is he never plays a minute at UK. Who will he guard? A 2? A 3? Nope! A 4? A 5? Nope? Can he get his own shot? Nope! A good kid, mid-major ability.
