From seeing both teams several times this year, I think this game will come down to the very basics of offensive rebounding and tough man to man defense. There is no question that Grant has the size advantage over Walton; however, the overall team speed of Walton is a slight advantage for them. If Grant can limit the second chance shots for Walton then they will win this contest. If Mike Davis, Kody Thompson, or Caleb Kinmon gets into foul trouble, and/or if Kody Kinmon does not play then Grant County will be in trouble. If Grant allows Walton to get 2nd and 3rd chance shots at the rim then they will be in trouble. It will be a very good game and very interesting since it will be played on a neutral site this time around.

The 8th Region is staying in house for their respective regional tournaments.

I had the priviledge of being on the coaching staff at Kentucky State when Roni played football there. He is hands down one of the best "natural athlete's" that I have ever been on the field with and seen with my own eyes. He will have a sound impact on any age group that lends an ear to hear him speak, and allows him to coach because of his knowledge of the game. Best of luck to him in whatever field he pursues.

My heart is with Warren Central in every contest when the DRAGONS take the field of battle; however, my head is telling me that this Owensboro team is better at this particular moment and should advance in this years playoffs. My hope is that the administration at Warren Central takes a very long look at the state of Dragon Football. Right now, the product on the field is not a true representation of what Warren Central football is all about. I take it personal because as an alum and a player, I was wearing the navy and white when teams were afraid to see WC on their schedule. We will get it back!!!

It is definitely disappointing to see the program in such a state of disarray. It hurts because deep down inside I bleed 'Dragon Blue', the program needs an infusion of a new direction and overall leadership. Maybe a person who played there who knows and understands the hard work, dedication and excellence that is required at Warren Central. A person who knows what it means to don the navy and white and each time the playing field is entered, the team expects to win etc.... I could go on, but I believe if you are reading this, you understand what I am talking about.

My prayers are with the family at this time.

It is what it is, this is Kentucky High School Football and if an inflated ticket price to $7 dollars a head, when you will pay $5 dollars at home keeps you from coming to support your team then super-shame on you. Now as for the beverage choices, there were definitely more there, you needed to actually go to the concession stand located at the top of the steps in the school gymnasium versus just settling for the Ale-8 booth at the game field. Now about the game, I would agree that both teams were very competitive considering the change in coaching for Harrison and the reloading effort for Fleming. As the season progresses both of these teams should challenge in their respective districts. For the game this past Saturday night, there were the typical first game mistakes. An offside, encroachment, or personal foul here or there, and those type of silly mistakes must be avoided in future contests. I would be a little concerned about the big play and it seemed like both teams gave up too many big plays (plays going 30+ yards). Best of luck to them both as the year goes on.

I anticipate a very nice football environment for a very competitive game between two schools whose counties border each other.

As a former player from Warren Central it is certainly disappointing to say the least that the Dragon football program is currently where it is. The program could use a fresh face, a new start and a rededication to committment to excellence.

My thoughts and prayers are with the young men and their families. I hope that they fully recover and are back to action really soon.

Who is #21 for GRC?

It would be very safe to say that St.Xavier is arguable the best team in the state of Kentucky. It points directly to the stability and leadership of the program under Coach Glaser. His philosophy is simple, tried and true, and produces championship results. There is no substitute for on field playing time and Coach Simpson has graduated some quality players from last year's team. Henry Clay will be fine, Coach Simpson will continue to challenge his player's to get better and they will get back there.

Knowing Dennis the way that I do, he will whip the defense in shape really quick. He and his staff do an excellent job of TEACHING over there at Franklin County.

Continue to build on the success of last year. The new staff brought in a fresh attitude and quickly changed the environment in Lawrenceburg last year. Talent has walked the halls at ACHS for years, and the overnight success of the program last year will be encouraging as more students become part of the football program. The coaches know exactly what they are doing and the challenge for them will be to sustain it, not become complacent and raise the bar even higher.
