They return a little help in the post because Senior Mike Sullivan was out almost all of last year with a broken hand. He is 6'3 220 or so a solid 4. But they are going to have to run well to compete. And trimpe can handle the ball pretty well. Everyone knows about how good Giwa is but watch out for returning starter Brian Volpenien he has worked on his game alot.

MLB Brad Herald had his MRI and has three broken bones in his foot out for six weeks. Big loss.

Effective, yes, dominating, not at all. HC fumbled the opening kickoff in a fluke so Conner scored from only 25 yards out, they only put up 17 points the rest of the way, no, not dominating. You can't be dominating a game when your only up by 3 with a few minutes left. As I said earlier HC went on four good drives and capped it off with the fade. Hope all is well with MLB Brad Herald a good player and important presence in the middle for HC. :thumb:

Good solid scrimmage from both teams. HC just made a few tough Defensive stands and had 4 very good long TD drives. Any doubts on if Roenker and Walker at RB and QB were put to rest, both looked very crisp.

I have heard the same that Mitch isn't coming back, wasn't treated real well.

All I can say about Newcath is that the will score and BE scored upon at will. And Lloyds O will be tough.

A good arguement aganist HC, but as for anyone who has seen the new tailback, Andy Roenker(6'0 215, 4.8 speed, started defense last year ), and Markel Walker (started both ways last year, 6'3 185, 4.5 or 4.6 speed and for anyone who watched him last year was an all 2-A althlete) they look to be set to have a few growing pains in learning new positions, but they have both played these before and are moving in quite nicely. The D has looked very solid but even as a huge HC fan they have loads of talent but will need to adapt and prove themselves before getting moved into the top ten, so although I think they should and will be a top 10 or top 5 team, only time will tell.:thumb:

Yes I was....if you only read that line of my entire post, which you did. It just went along with my reasoning behind why he should make a smooth conversion to Qb. And if I'm not mistaken Hc did win so I'm just stating the truth.:sssh: Also, I in no way said we have already won the game, because well...we haven't, and it's going to be a tuff game. I never said Lloyd was bad, they have talent offense. Now if you would like to continue the conversation on the players and how they will pan out and why we are in top ten lists I'm all for it. :thumb:

There are a bunch of problems with your post. 1. The "converted" WR to QB is Markel Walker, who was the Qb for the 8th grade team and the unbeaten 10-0 Freshman team two years ago. He still ran drills as a Qb some last year early on there was just no need at Qb with Cody Reardon, so because Markel is a freak athlete and most likely a top ten guy in NKY, he went and dominated as a Free safety and wideout. I'm sure you remember him from your two loses you were handed by HC last year. :sssh: :thumb: 2. Why would Juniors starting hurt a team if they are good, and based on the junior Freshman(06'), Jv(last year), and Varsity(last year) performances already dished out, what makes you think they will suffer? :ylsuper:

I'm not sure if there is already a thread I didn't see one, but with Brandon Housely Being granted his eligabililty at Holmes, Does this cement Holmes and Scott County as the far and away teams to beat in KY? Can anybody challenge them for the state Title?

Yea I know it is. It cements them as a top two team in KY along with Scott County I would think. It's going to be tough to matcho with JJ, Rico, Elijah, and now Housely

Egan throw well last year and should translate into a Varsity contributor. As well as Tyler Kinkaid and a little guy by the name of Paul Ritter. :lol:

Same Head coach. New line coach and a 2nd year O-coordinator who really can call plays. So everyone connected to the program tightly is hoping more of the play calling is handed of to him.

From what I hear out of Newcath their D is looking shaky, I mean there basically relying on a whole new D. From what I remember their Jv defense wasn't anything special so I don't see them doing much on that side of the ball. But watch out for the tandem of Kues and Kelly their Offense is going to be explosive. Also, I know I have said it a 100 times and I know I'm biased toward HC. But their Defense is looking strong as ever with NKY's leading tackler back in Brad Herald, and watch out for Walker and Roenker in the backfield, they have just as much talent as Newcath's backfield and with solid protection, this Offense might get into a groove and be one of the tougher teams to mess with in 2A. If not all of NKY.:thumb:

On a serious note, I just feel like Elliot carries them way to much. He throw a no-no and had two triples aganist HC in the playoffs. He created all their O and was the best pitcher by far. I just don't see them rebounding to be top 5.

My point wasn't that it makes the senior better b/c unless it's a huge freshman, it won't. My point is that for some schools their isn't another option when the varsity needs to practice and run plays. I know personally Holy Cross only has maybe ten sophmores or so the are playing, so some freshman might need to be brought up, and if a few aren't up to the task and don't feel they should have to do it, then you don't have to play. It's just how it is in small schools. I know I had do play aganist much bigger competion as a young player, all it made me do was work harder to be better and smarter the next time.

The number one option will be Mike Sullivan the TE. Started last year and a definite threat. Then he will be followed by projected wideouts Rob Ziegler and Jordan Norris. But they will be closely backed up by new comer and speedster Aaron Fritch and converted tight end Corey Bailey. We might also see alittle of developing soph Noah Knuckleman who is 6'4. Roenker and Cooper are also viable recievers from the backfield as well.

: It's lookin like Walker is the guy. He has flashed his arm and it is looking really good. He has taken the majority of the 1st team snaps on O. But Easton is still in the mix if Markel has any major setbacks. Markel is giving the offense a dimension of speed they have been lacking at the QB position the past few years. If he adapts well, look for him to really excel and turn into a top QB in NKY. Also, on a side note, Roenker is looking pretty strong at tailback.:ylsuper:
