Who are some players flying under the radar in NKY this year. Who are some kids that didn't start varsity last year that could contribute this year?

there is another Kelly, Chris I believe is his 1st name, coming up at NCC that could make an impact next season. He'll be a soph. but should probably start on varsity.

Joe Adkins from Scott. Hit .487 at the JV level and should start 1st base for the eagles this upcoming year.

This young man is a tremendous talent, one of, if not the strongest and fastest sophmores in NKY. He had a pretty serious football injury, but seems well on his way to recovery. Pure power in everything he does.

Holy Cross has a couple of upcoming pitchers that should be in the mix for some mound duty.

Here's a name that I personally think will have a good (notice I didn't say great) year for CovCath Logan Siemer. Was impressed with his ability to play second base during the JV season, and just love the way he attacks everything on the diamond! He could become a very good lead off hitter and has the speed to steal some bases, which would then allow Maile to move back into the three or four hole to drive in more runs. A lineup of Logan, LaFever, Maile, Darner, Isler, Nutini, Holocher, Klein, and VanSant would be nice.

It is true that Seimer is absolutely unbeleivable with is glove, he will need to work extremely hard to his hitting skills to a varsity level, him batting in the lineup may not be very likely, but I wouldn't be surprised to see him play defense for The Colonels.

Is his only position 2nd base? Because if so I'm not seeing much playing time. Unless he can learn to play the outfield extremely well I can't see him in this experienced lineup.

Id say he could play 2nd, his glove and speed are probably better than the second baseman now, but his bat is not very good. So he would probably be DH for considering the only pitchers CovCath has are mainly hitters and dont need to be DH for.

I think Brett Stayton, in the end, will end up earning is way to the DH spot. He's more of a power threat than Seimer and hits from the left side. He has 2 things to his advantage already.

I cant see him replacing a returning starter in his senior year, but Seimer figures to be a very nice second basemen in 2010.

It's hard to turn one who has been an infielder his whole life into an outfielder within a matter of months. He's been playing 2nd base his whole life along with this summer. And you are correct about having a weaker arm than the other potential outfielders for the colonels. The chances of him playing any 2nd base at all are slim to none unless of injuries or other certain situations.

Why not LaFever in LF? While LaFever is a steady infielder, he doesn't have the range that Seimer has (IMO) at second base. Seimer, Holocher, Maile, Nutini and VanSant when Nutini is pitching, gives you a very good up the middle "D". Move RD back to RF (gives you one of the best arms in NKy in RF) and play Klein at 3rd.
