  1. Lockhart having a heck of a tourney. Shooting the and one. Got it. 49-30
  2. Congrats! They played hard and was a pleasure to watch.
  3. Butler 41 Male 25 half Butler came out swinging from the tip. Total domination in first half
  4. Courier-Journal LIT update Top-five girls teams Simon Kenton, Sacred Heart to meet in LIT quarterfinals
  5. Now the LIT gets really good. Most all teams left are top 20. Friday 4:00 Butler vs South Warren 5:30 Sacred Heart vs Simon Kenton 7:00 Bullitt East vs Mercer County 8:30 Male vs Henderson County
  6. Manual played without Curry today who injured an eye this week in practice. Good win for BE.
  7. You can't go wrong with either candidate. Penn has a lot of help surrounding her where as Duvall doesn't have that luxury. This gives her more of a chance to put a team on her back to get the win. This past weekend was an example of Duvall doing that when BE was down 7 at the end of fourth quarter and Duvall went to work helping BE pull out the win over Mason County.
  8. Tonight should be some good competitive games. Wouldn't surprise me if there isn't an upset tonight (Bullitt East or Mercy)
  9. My observation in this game was Mason County played a very disciplined game until the middle of the fourth quarter. They lost focus. No one on Mason County wanted the ball in their hands at the end of the game. That was pretty apparent. They are a solid team that should contend for a regional title, but need to learn to finish these games out.
  10. USA Today Rankings Super 25 Girls Basketball Computer Rankings Butler Male Mercer Sacred Heart Simon Kenton I guess the super 25 agrees with BGP.
  11. Clemons, Toller, and Marshall come off of the bench.
  12. This is shaping up to be a really good tourney this year with all of the quality teams participating from top to bottom. Whoever wins this year will have earned it because both sides of the bracket are loaded.
  13. Yes Sacred Heart changed up defenses this time playing zone most of the game. They are going to have to play this way when they are matched up against teams with string post play.
  14. The Valkyries started out slowly in this game with too many unforced turnovers, but got things going with strong defense. They also did a great job of rebounding versus the last time these two teams met over Christmas by grabbing 36 rebounds to Manual's 35. Freshman phenom Erin Toller had another huge game tallying 18 points going 4-5 from the three. Another freshman that played a big role was Clemons with much needed help in the paint. She pulled down 6 rebounds and scored 9 points. Grace Berger was a warrior on the boards getting 13 to go along with 14 points. She was physically tough in the paint keeping Butler from getting easy putback baskets. They also held Jaela Johnson in check limiting her to 11 points on 4-14 shooting from the field and 1-8 from the three. She tallied 30 points in the previous meeting. Kia Sivils was also tenacious on defense leading her teammates with energy and hustling on both ends of the court pulling down 6 rebounds and dishing out 3 assists. Ashley Harris spent much of the evening keeping Jaela Johnson in check with defense and dished out 5 assists. Kiki Samsel fared much better in this game verse the last time they met going for 21 points on 5-5 shooting from the three. This was a good road win for SHA that should give them confidence as the season ratchets up going into the second half of the season.
  15. Another coach Just gem of a game. Typical Butler stats for the game with balanced scoring.
  16. On Saturday the 7th is the Sacred Heart vs Manual rematch.
