Scared Heart 86 Eastern 56

As it turns out the CJ doesn't post the box scores any more. Not worth purchasing the CJ anymore. -

Really? Larry Just is a coach of good character and morals. The real question is why wouldn't Western just play a JV schedule this year when they know they can't field a competitive team?

Mercer County 65 Sacred Heart 63

Fair enough. Although I’m pretty sure Erin Toller knew the game situation. I think both teams grew from playing this type of game early in the year. It should help both teams! -

In reality the SHA player shouldn’t have been there with A couple seconds left. There were many other very questionable calls down the stretch along with SHA bad turnovers. Add it all up equals a Mercer win on their home court. Hopefully they play each other in the Sweet Sixteen Championship game. Two very good teams! -

What do you think Jesse? Was it a foul in that situation of the game? Or do you let it go to OT? -

Then watch the end of the game on Prepspin and then say your peace or watch the whole game and have a better perspective. -

Unequivocally disagree with you! You can stop the play on Prepspin and see that her hands were on the ball, let alone make the call as an official in that moment. Bottom line you don’t make that play as a player or make the call in that situation as an official. In the end I hope these two teams meet for the state Championship because both programs have great programs, players, and coaches! -

You can watch the replay on youtube. Search Prepspin. Great game with high level play from both teams. Wish the game didn’t end the way it did by a foul called with 1.4 seconds left on the clock. Would’ve liked to see it decided on the court in OT. -
Sacred Heart 64 Jeffersonville (IN) 55

Great game last evening at Jeffersonville (IN). The highly ranked Red Devils in Indiana gave the Valkyries a scare leading by double digits at half time. Sacred Heart got it going in the second half to pull out a hard fought game. Here's a link to an article posted at Louisville Catholic Sports: Valkyries battle to rally past Jeff | CatholicSportsNet -
In today’s ranking release of MaxPreps Xcellent 25 Mercer dropped to #12, while Sacred Heart moves into the top top 25 at #21. These two teams representing Kentucky at the national level.

I don’t believe Sacred Heart came out to “make a statement”, but they did show the depth that they have on this team. It’s just the first game of a long season. Things change for most teams by tourney time. The Valkyries will take it one game at a time and focus on their job at hand. This is an experienced team that should have poise to succeed at a high level. GRC is a younger team and got rattled by SHA pressure turning the ball over at a high rate. They will get that fixed. I expect GRC to be an excellent team by the end of the year. I bet they will be a much improved team by the LIT in January. It should be a fun season for both of these teams. -

If Grace Berger keeps playing at that level she played at tonight, then she will be right in the mix for Miss Basketball! -

LOL. You really think the refs care who wins this game? As a matter of fact David Swift is the R and very repected statewide. He officiated in last years sweet 16. -
BPG's #2 vs. #3 tonight at 7:30. Two regional champions from last year going at it to start their season. Will GRC pull off a shocker on the road tonight in the Valkyries gym?
