  1. Here's the story from the CJ on this exciting win for the Crimson's. You can watch the game winner by clicking Cook's twitter in the middle of the article. Groves' last-second layup leads Manual over Male I did watch the game and can tell you that making your free throws or lack there of played a huge role in this game.
  2. I totally agree with this statement. You can take it down to the regional level as well. After playing an entire season the best teams only reward is playing another top team in the first round of the playoffs. If the best teams knock each other off in the early rounds you set yourself up for blowout semi-finals and championship game. Last year Butler blew Franklin County out in the Championship game.
  3. No surprises in the first round, but two good match ups Wednesday evening. Male/Manual SHA/Eastern
  4. I know some people from Indiana and they wish they never went to the class system. Remember the movie Hoosiers!
  5. There are some that aren't on the list that have D1 offers and a commitment.
  6. Bullitt East/Doss North Bullitt/Fairdale Butler/Moore Holy Cross/Mercy Should be no first round upsets here. Some really good 2nd round games with BE vs. North Bullitt and Butler vs. Mercy.
  7. Manual/CAL Male/Waggener Eastern/Central Sacred Heart/Assumption It doesn't look like there should be any first round upsets, but Manual CAL will be the best game. The second round anything can happen with Manual vs. Male and SHA vs Eastern. I predict a Male vs. Sacred Heart final. Should be a good one!
  8. @RocketsDad Who would you add and who would you drop?
  9. I don't know who would be the two you are referring. The only one I don't know much about is Nelson because I've never seen her play. She puts up big numbers against.... The coaches vote and the players are listed in order of the voting. The two lowest vote total of the ten are Samsel and Browning.
  10. Ciaja Harbison Male (POY) Jaela Johnson Manual Grace Berger Sacred Heart Shelby Calhoun CAL Emelia Sexton Male Bri Mishler Eastern Tonysha Curry Manual Alexis Nelson St Francis Kiki Samsel Sacred Heart Cameron Browning Male
  11. I don't think there were any upsets. Connor was favored over Ryle.
  12. Kiki Samsel became the 24th Valkyrie to score 1000 career points in last evenings game with Bullitt East. She joins Grace Berger who accomplished the same feat earlier in the season. Congratulations to both of these fine young woman!
  13. This might be one of the reason Coach Mudd left the program after a similar incident in summer ball. Coach Mudd has class and canceled the remainder of summer ball. Said he was embarrassed. One week later he resigned. I guess they haven't learned from it.
  14. I really liked the Announcer for the Camels. There's the positive, but the fans are crazy up there. SHA came away with the win not playing their best basketball, so cudo's to CC for disrupting their rythm. CC has some really good shooters on the team and others that are uncanny with getting to the lane for a shot. CC did a decent job on defense trying to contain Berger, but she still poured in 17 points. She's so good off the dribble getting a shot. Samsel also came through at the end of the third quarter and 4th quarter scoring 12!of her 19 points in that stretch. Good win on the road for the Valkyries.
  15. SHA looks out of sync in the first half. I think they will play intense defense in the second half. Camels making shots and SHA missing.
  16. You just never know what you're going to get in High School basketball. Some nights they are world beaters and the next game they can't execute or throw it in the ocean. I think CC will keep it close. SHA has played a hard game last Sunday (Mercy) and have another tough game against Bullitt East on Friday, so they will play a lot of players. I think CC will make it interesting.
  17. Should be a good match up on Campbell County's home floor. I sure hope I don't have "one of those drives home" after this one is played!
  18. SHA misses both free throws and mercy hits a three. 62-57 :24
  19. Mercy's freshman Sivori hit another three to make it close. SHA hitting their free throws. 62-54 :36
