So, you have seen all the QB's in the state , either in person or on film ? I think the folks at Trinity and Lex Cath or maybe even Scott , may have an arguement . Unless I missd it , Highlands hasn't even named their starting QB yet.

This is one scrimmage that will be worth the price of admission. Speaking of the price of admission, I happened to come up with an old ticket from the 23rd annual Recreation Bowl dated Saturday August 29, 1970. It was Ft.Thomas Highlands vs. Madisonville North Hopkins in The Recreation Bowl @ Mt. Sterling , KY. Admission price was $1.50.On the back side of the ticket , hand written in blue ink , was the final score Highlands 27 - Madisonville 14. I know a couple of players from the "70" team that would love to have this in their trophy case. It's not worth anything in dollars, but it's "priceless", if you know what I mean. It brought back good memories, so , I thought I would share.

I got my first report on spring practice from my spy. For obvious reasons I can't go into detail , but you should be surprised when you watch the Birds in late August. Even now players are fighting for playing time and the starting jobs.

A San Diego area school has agreed to pay Scott Eveland 4.4 million dollars due to a brain injury caused by playing linebacker on his high school football team. Eveland now 22, has to communicate through a keyboard. I found this story on facebook, perhaps someone can post a link. Just something to think about while our KY teams are having their spring practice.

Isn't Jac Collinsworth projected to be a starter ? There are two Abners , correct ? What class and what positions do they play ? I didn't know there were any Rollers at Highlands this year.

Amassing 3,820 passing yards this season with a completion percentage of 65%,Towles completed 42 passing touchdowns with only one interception on top of 15 rushing touchdowns.These statistics helped Towles garner an impressive array of post-season awards, including Ky's Mr.Football(only the second player in HHS history to earn this award),Gatorade Ky Football Player of the Year and the Louisville QB Club Paul Horning Award.Most recently, Towles was named to the prestigious Parade Magazine All-American Team. "Most of the awards that I won are really team awards,"said Towles."The Mr. Football and the one interception are only possible with a great O-line, awesome tight ends, solid recievers and quick running backs." The HHS stuff that was in the yard had Patricks name and #8 on it. I didn't see anything about Benny. Glad to hear the tradition is going to continue in the Towles family.

Congrats Patrick, well deserved. I passed the Towles house yesterday. They no longer have the HHS stuff in the front yard, but they did have the UK blue and white streamers flying proudly.

Enrollment in 2011 was exactly 1369 grades 9-12. I still think they shouldn't have a problem with the O-line.

The team I support has a new O-line every year. They have about 400 boys in the school and a very, very good O-line coach. Every year the O-line is the big question until the 3rd or 4th game of the season, then we all relax and say we are going to be alright. I would think that T is the same way. I don't know who the O-line coach is , but he must be good to be on their coaching staff. The O-line at T will gel over time and I expect the chemistry to be there after a few games. Some of the juniors have playing time together from last years team. The only thing I can say is, if your going to have a chance to beat Trinity, you need to play them early on the schedule. The Highlands and Trinity scrimmage should be very entertaining, if both teams are healthy.

The O-line at Trinity shouldn't be a problem, especially with 1500 boys to choose from. The way T blew everybody out last year , their underclassmen got tons of valueable playing time . If they don't run the table I will be surprised.

Will these $50,000 weights really make a difference on the win/loss record ?

Nevermind , same schedule as last year. O ave. nearly 50 points per game D gave up an ave.8.3 points per game Not a lot of room for improvement on either side of the ball ,Rocks will be tough again!

Why haven't you reported all this to to the KHSAA ? Obviously you have proof for all these accusations . So go ahead and report the violations . Private schools aren't the only ones who get accused of recruiting , believe me.

Of the 13 sports in high school only 3 are divided into classes ,the ones that are not by class are track, basketball , and football. This is according to the KHSAA web site but I don't know if it up to date. IMO, football should be devided into classes , maybe 4 , and totally forget about the so called super class , it won't work. Ky football is between a rock (not meaning T) and a hard place. You have above average teams that are competitve every season , go deep in the playoffs but never seem to get to the state game for reasons I can't explain. Would a shake up in classes help these teams finally get there and win state ? How about getting different region or district games to maybe equalize the competition ? The sad thing is , is that the same teams, especially in district play have to go through the Highlands , Trinity and X's of the world. By no means am I putting a knock on any team , but the three teams I have mentioned are usually the road that leads to the state final game. As far as money goes , schedule teams of equal quality and the stands will be full every week with tons of money pouring in from the gate. Truthfully I think they would get more money having competitive games on the schedule. Does anybody know the gate from HHS vs. CCH , and the gate from HHS and Pendleton Co. in 2011 ?

Trinity has an excellent program , especially last year and this coming year. I don't know if they can sustain the dominance , but I could be wrong , still look for the overall quality in all fassets of the team to drop somewhat , just don't know for how long or how far. The public vs. the privates don't mean squat to me. If you want to beat the privates , do something to close the gap , have a goal and work on beating the privates. Walk the halls of the school and find athletes that aren't playing football or any sport for that matter. I'd say every school has at least 2 or 3 students that would likely help the football team but aren't involved for one reason or another.Trinity has been beaten by public schools before , why can't they do it now ? Paul dunbar has the biggest enrollment in Ky with 2200 students , if they are dominating in any sport I haven't heard about it. (I only come out from under my rock about 6 times a year , so I might have missed something).So , I don't buy the numbers excuse. VOR HAS A VERY GOOD POINT , ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS FIGURE OUT HOW TO BEAT TWO TEAMS , X AND T. Good luck with that , but you can't beat them unless you schedule them.

No ,Sheehan was not Mr. Football , nor was Austin Collinsworth , and we see where AC is now. AC is one of the players in the skill position from NKY that you seem to think are nearly extinct.
