I will have to prove you wrong on Highlands total yards. Junior Brandon Roller ( I hate bringing up names), playing tight end had 4 receptions for 73 yards. That's 18.25 yards per catch average.His longest reception that night was 33 yards. So, you do the math, if you know how. Roller had 73 of the total yards.Obviously your 55 plus or minus three is wrong! Thats a fact!!! Nuff said, good win for Colerain , good luck to the Cards and hope they stay injury free. The final score was 33-18.

Where in my post did I say Colerain was scared to play someone? Everyone knows that Ohio teams only schedule Ky teams that they have a good shot of beating, due to the Harbin system in Ohio. So you just got done watching the game again, and you don't know what year it was? Sounds fishy to me.Let me refresh your memory,it was 2008, the year before Highlands started platooning. I think 55 yards is way off the mark of total offense for the Birds in that game. I know one reciever playing tight end had more yards than that on his receptions alone. Highlands hater, I believe you are. I also think it is comical that Cardinals Fan is"getting off " on Colerain beating Ryle. :lol:

The "big bad meanies from Ohio " need to schedule some elite teams from Ky.Seems that Colerain doesn't want any part of Highlands or Trinity, Ryle has a respectable program, but not any where close to Highlands or Trinity. So, do all the chest thumping you want, but all Colerain did was beat a very mediocre 6A team.

Agreed, I was very shocked at the final score of last weeks game.

Last year Trinity gave Elder it's worse loss EVER at the pit, 56-7 was the final score. T had 586 yards of total offense while Elder had 181 yards of total offense.

Back in the early 70's, HHS had a head coach that once told me "if we can hang with them in the 1st half, our conditioning will win the game for us in the 2nd half." Obviously , no platooning back then. :thumb:

The kid got humiliated by the coach in front of 1500 fans, you weren't there so you should have no comment. Here is what happened, and yes I was there and saw it. The LB'r missed an open field tackle on #23 for HHS, nobody would have made that tackle, and I mean nobody. The kid from Highlands made a juke move around the 20 yard line, cut it back and ran in for a TD. The RB from Highlands makes everybody miss tackles, he is great. I'm sure that this kid from SC, wasn't the only SC player that missed a tackle, the score would indicate that as well. I think the coach was frustrated and took it out on one player,and lost his cool. Your post has no credibilty, you've never met the coach and you weren't there, your post is hearsay, case closed.

Wow, not what I was expecting. So the coaches are suposed to do that? Really, then why do they call unsportsmanlike penalties on players that talk trash while on the field?So it's not ok for players to do that, but, it's ok for coaches do that to players? As far as boo hoo, I really don't come from a football family, and don't know any real tough guys, but I do read alot. I'm glad you told me football was a tough game, made for tough people, I guess I haven't come to that chapter in my book yet.

I'm not HIM, but clearly, the best coach was NOT humiliating his players.

After sitting in road construction in Indy for an hour, drove like a madman to make the game on time. Ive been to lots of high school games, but last night I saw something I've never seen before. The head coach for SC walked down the sideline to talk to one of his LB's after the play on JH's TD in the south endzone.The coach was screaming at the player at the top of his lungs. I was three quarters of the way in the bleechers and heard him plain as can be. The player was slowly walking to the sideline and the head coach started yelling at the player from the 20 yard line to the bench area at the 50 yard line. When the player stood at the 50 the coach, still yelling, went on yelling nose to nose for another minute. So, my question is, where do coaches draw the line when the player makes a mistake on the field, to me, the coach didn't do anything but humiliate the player right in front of everyone in the bleechers. Scott County has lots of play makers and talent, but I don'tthink the coaches know what to do with it.

Several things that might sway the poll: A) Birds are a different animal at home B)more posters are Highlands fans C)more people root for NKY teams if their from the area D) Advantage to HHS for coaching Should be there, I have to drive from Indy I hope safe travels for SC and their fans. Should be worth the price of admission! Go Birds !!!

Trinity(KY) is ranked #1 in the Maxpreps Freeman Rankings. Trinity(KY) is ranked #12 in the Maxpreps Xcellent 25 MBA won it's first game of the season with a final score of 51-0 over Kingsbury. MBA had 22 first downs and 383 total yards of offense.

I didn't take your post as an attack on highlands or it's football program. Just saying everyone on those state teams earned that trophy and they all should get equal recognition by their fans, friends and family. Obviously the more gifted or should I say fortunate ones that get a free ride in college for playing football have earned that because of their dedication and their god gifted talent and physical traits. I'm happy for the ones that get the free college ride and I'm also just as happy for the players hard work to bring home the state title. Trotwood Madison had 8 or 9 legit D1 players a while back, Highlands beat them and that was before the platoon system at HHS.Just making a point of teamwork. Go Birds!!!!!

Of the 21 state title teams , how many had superstars ? Sure their are years when Highlands had superstars, but more often than not, the state title teams consisted of a TEAM full of kids with one goal in mind and that was a state championship. I could name dozens of these so called "superstars" but I also remember the other players that made these players superstars.The ones that played in the NFL, and the ones going to big college programs are easiest to remember,but also remember the great high school players that didn't get the D1 scholly, and maybe didn't go to college at all. We all like to see the kids names on something as simple as a newspaper article or on BGP, it's great for everyone involved from the cheerleaders to the faculty.Just in recent history people were talking about a mediocre Highlands team, all they did was run the table and win a state trophy. Give me a team that will work hard and together as a team, and you can have your one or two superstars. If this team brings home another state title, ALL of these kids, like the others, will be superstars as well.
