I didnt get to watch the whole game but heard the announcers say that Pike needed to put on some pounds on the large frame that he has. Also if that happened he might be good at defensive end . First don't kill me, thats just what was said or that is the way I had taken that comment. We also know the those announcers have nothing to do with where Pike plays at Alburn. Good luck Zeke .

What's dumb is giving individual awards for a team sport. What about giving a few players from a team the award but can't do it for other deserving players , because there might be too many from the same team. It's like horse maneur (for lack of the other word ) , spread it around and let everybody get some . Some players don't get voted to the allstate team because they have every SEC team in the country making offers and therefore, don't need the press. I know life isn't fair , but is the all state team even worth the paper that it's written on ? Congrats to all the young men who made the all state teams , well deserved !! Congrats to all the young men who should have been named to the all state team , but weren't for various reasons. Thanks to all the football players across the state , we appreciate your effort , all state or not !

Who would you replace for Hatcher ? It is what it is . I just thought it was odd that the CJ didn't have Hatcher on the 1st or 2nd team. No big deal .

People in the know have checked the facts and they all agree Hatcher is 3rd team all state . Are you going to tell me Demling doesn't know high school football ? Maybe he will make 1st or 2nd team all BGP , it really doesn't matter , he is a good player .

The all state committees and Demling doesn' t agree with you on Hatcher. I'm with Demling ! For a team that is arguably #1 in the nation , and as you say , have 12 to 14 legit D1 players , the all state nominations are kind of slim. I believe you are right . My question is what is the criteria for having a number retired at Highlands ? I was thinking if you made the NFL , then it was retired . There have been several players from HHS that have been or are playing in the pros and there numbers have not been retired (yet ?). If this was the case and they would start retiring numbers for all the great players , eventially they would start using 00 and 101 and so forth . Austin Collinsworth was an all american and his number hasn't been retired. How about those players that were voted on Ft. Thomas Living Magazine to be voted "the best of their position " in two different age groups ? Should those numbers also be retired ? In my opinion , I like to see the players wearing jerseys of the great players before them .It brings back fond memories , and reminds me of the ongoing tradition instilled in the minds of the present players . I have seen many of the numbers "handed down " through generations of familys. Patrick Towles is a very special player , but I wouldn't want his number retired . I want to go to next years game and watch a different QB wear number 8 , and at the same time and remember just how great PT was as a Bluebird. Didn't mean to ramble , sorry.
