Well said Ram , I would like to add something to your post if you don't mind. People don't realize the "tradition " part of the Birds. Only the people that have been going to HHS games every year for a long time can see it. It seems that the same last names keep coming up over and over. You hear "my granpa played , my dad played , brother , cousin etc, etc. I wasn't fortunate enough to get a ring , but throughout my family they have like seven rings between them. There are many generations of players and everyone of them wants to be better than the last. Like one of my nephews said ," football , was beat into me." ( I had to laugh !! ) There are too many to count , but a lot of families have more than one ring , going back generations. That doesn't happen at a lot of schools.

With only 47 players on the roster , we can assume they have lots of two way starters. I have a feeling it's going to get real ugly in the 3rd and 4th qtrs. I'm sure F.S. will play their hearts out till the end .

Do you always enjoy games with a running clock , or are you the #1 Highlands hater !! Your funny , does your team play Trinity , I guess not. If your team played Trinity this year , you would go for sure because they would also have a running clock! How do you know the outcome of a game before it's played , you got a crystal ball ? Can I borrow it for the next time I go play the horses ?

Remember , Highlands beat Elder at the pit , wih Highlands D1 QB sitting on the bench with a concussion after the first series. Could BG beat Elder with their starting QB sitting on the bench ? C'mon up and play some Ohio teams , other than Trinity this year , it's a whole different ball game.

If Dixie doesn't schedule Highlands in 2012 , how about putting Indy Cathedral in Dixie 's spot on the Birds schedule ? That would be awesome , they are evenly matched with storied programs , and both teams fans travel well. This matchup would be great for the Herbie !! What do you think ?

Indy Cathedral won it's second straight state title defeating South Bend Washington 42-7. This is their 4th title in 6 years and 9th overall. This win should help Trinity in their quest for being #1 in the nation. Cincinnati X lost their semi-final game to Pickering 14-7 .

Wow , nice post !! I was expecting much worse . Nobody expects anybody to bow down to HHS , if we show support or talk positve about the Birds , people like you think it makes their team inferior. I can understand Boyle fans wanting HHS to lose next week because of the state title streak is about to be tied if HHS wins. We support the Birds and people call us arrogant , and people that talk against the Birds are classified as haters , that's the way it has been and always will be. Who cares what team is #2 in the state !!!

Highlands is ducking the big two in Ky , they go across the river to play the cupcakes in the GCL South. All I'm saying is , if your team doesn't play T on a regular basis , don't cry about HHS not playing them. The 2005 & 2006 games didn't turn out the way I wanted them to , but give HHS credit , they got on the field with St. X .

My first post in this thread , really it is. What I find in this thread that is comical . It seems that just about everyone on this thread wants to see Highlands play Trinity in a real game and not a srimmage. I see a lot of post from Boyle county fans want Highlands to play Trinity in a real game , when Boyle County won't even scrimmage Trinity . When was the last time Boyle played Trinity. Sounds to me like Boyle fans either have hate or dislikes the Birds very much. I can see why , at the start of the season Boyle they had a thirty something win streak , five staight titles . How many game winning streak do have now ? It was terrible that you lost your first game of the season. Most of Boyles success came without Highlands on their schedule. You all want Highlands to play Trinity , I invite Boyle to come up to Cincinnati to play Elder at the pit and Cincy X any where you want to play them. No speculation here , Highlands has been there and beat them both. Why doesn't Boyle play any one out of their class , or state. For the rest of the haters , get your team to play Trinity and let us know how you did. If your team hasn't played Trinity , go ahead and try it . If you don't want to play Trinity in a real game ,how about a scrimmage ? If you really don't want to play Trinity , come up and play the big boys from the GCL South and beat them , then maybe the Boyles , Lex Cath , Male, Ballard , Bowling Green will earn some respect. As for #2 , Who on BG's schedule is stronger than Elder at the Pit ? No arrogance here , get your team to play Trinity and stop wanting Highlands to play Trinity until your team does. Lay it on me , I have very very thick skin !!!

Congrats Birds !! Two "chop blocks " called at tonights game. Do the refs all have the same definition ? Bluegrasscard posted the new 2011 rule on "chop blocks " in the HHS vs Lex Cath prediction thread on page 3, but I'm not sure that all the refs have read them.

If I'm Dale , the first thing that I ask the refs " What is your (refs) definition of a chop block ? This call has been called a lot on Highlands , and had a bearing on some big plays that were called back !

Twenty months ago , Natalie Randolph became the first female head football coach in the nation. She became head coach of Coolidge High School in Washington D.C.. Last year her team finished 4-7 and made it to the playoffs. This year her team went 8-2 and got a birth into the most "puff your chest out "( no pun intended ) Turkey Bowl City Championship. Congrats !!!

I believe that last years key word was "mediocre ". We all saw how that mediocre team turned out ! :thumb:

These teams didn't get this far without being good , and well coached. Both teams will have to play flawless football , minimizing the dropped passes , and poor special teams play .The Highlands D has been terrific the past 3 games in the playoffs. Both teams have very few , if any , players playing both ways , so no advantage to either team , IMO. Like sweep said , should be a great game and whomever makes the least mistakes win. I'm sure both teams will do nothing less than leave it all on the field. I hope ther is no injuries to either team. GO Birds !!!! Some turkey cheer : A young man named John recieved a parrot as a gift. The parrot had a bad attitude and even worse vocabulary. Every word out of the birds mouth was rude, obnoxious and laced with profanity. John tried and tried to change the birds attitude by consistently saying only polite words , playing soft music and anything else he could think of to "clean up" the birds vocabulary. Finally , John was fed up and he yelled at the parrot.The parrot yelled back. John shook the parrot and the parrot got angrier and even ruder. John , in desperation , threw up his hand , grabbed the bird and put him in the freezer. For a few minutes the parrot squawked and kicked and screamed. Then suddenly there was total quiet. Not a peep was heard for over a minute. Feering that he'd hurt the parrot , John quickly opened the door to the freezer. The parrot calmly stepped out onto John's outstretched arm and said " I believe I may have offended you with my rude language and actions. I'm sincerely remorseful for my inappropriate transgressions and I fully intend to do everything I can to correct my rude and unforgivable behavior". John was stunned at the change in the bird's attitude. As John was about to ask the parrot what had made such a dramatic change in his behavior , the bird continued " may I ask what the turkey did ? " Happy Thanksgiving every body !!!!!!!!!
