From what I'm hearing , next years Triniy's team will be better than this one. Wright (QB) , Quick(WR) , and Dawkins (RB) are only Juniors . :eek:

At the beginning of the season I said that the GCL South teams were over rated . After the Lou X win tonght and the Trinity blow out win to Moeller and all of the rest of Ky wins in this season , is Ky football that good or is Ohio football that bad. Your thoughts ?

I think your missing Clyde's point .He is saying compete in 6A , not win it. If they have the attitude of the bolded , they will never compete nor ever win it. Trinity is on cloud nine for the next year due to the talent level they have. After that the talent level may come down a little bit. So in the next two years if Ryle makes big strides they could improve and compete. When I read threads about Ryle , it seems every year they have their sights set on a district title and thats it. Ever hear the phrase "aim for the stars , if you don't hit them you may come closer than you think " Ryle needs to believe and set their sights higher.

Congrats to the Rocks on taking care of buiness through the regular season. Blew up some great teams along the way !!! Wouldn't be surprized to see some cancellations from the GCL South schools for next year . To run the table on the schedule you had , is truely remarkable !!!!

I want to be perfectly honest why I posted my pevious posts in this thread. It is not to stir the pot , or not because I don't like Ohio football because I do like the interstate rivalry games amoung the elite teams. If there is wrong intensions of coaches telling players to do whatever needs to be done to win a game ,wrong or right , it should be addressed by the HSAA or some higher authority. Should refs be advised or trained better to watch for suspect behavior , or when in doubt of a late hit or a flagrant foul to throw the flag in order to protect players and show that such activity will not be tolerated. Back in the 70's and 80's it was very common to go to games and practices ( even in August two a days ), and you could not find a water bottle . So after a few guys had heat related illnesses , do to hydration , the water bottles slowly started appearing. Then after several deaths due to heat , teams take frequent water breaks and players have all the water they want ,whenever they want it. People related to high school football realized that you can drink water and not be considered weak. The concussion is a very serious injury . I will use the latest concussion for reference , not because it was Highlands , not because it was Pat Towles , because it was a young man with a head injury that didn't know it or realize it at the time. Two plays later he scores a touchdown that afterward does not even remember it. What if he had taken another serious blow to the head , we could be talking about something more serious than sitting out a game or two.Head injuries are being very much headlined in all football fom pee wee to the pros , the pros have the best helmets made , what is your kid wearing ? IMO , any helmet to helmet contact with a defensless player should be some form of suspension. Yea , it's a judgement call but when in doubt throw the flag and protect the players. I just read an article where a HS player died of head trauma in NJ , playing football on Friday night . I just want to keep ours and your kids safe as possible , is that asking too much ?

Agreed ! I hope Travis and the whole 1st team is sitting on the bench about halfway through the 2nd QTR with a 35 point lead ,and with no injuries !

My prediction is Moeller will do everything in their power to knock your starting QB out of the game ,literally !!! This includes , but not limited to , late hits , cheap shots , bite fingers in the pile , any thing clean or dirty . It's no big secret either . On another site the GCL and GMC teams are bragging how they knocked Bardo and Towles and two other HHS QB's out of the game , and also said they were taught to do that. I'm just posting what I read by people that are "in the know " of Ohio high school football.

I knew this Trinity team was special , just by watching a preseason scrimmage with Highlands !! The Rocks need to take care of business , and smash Moeller !!!

Trinity will win this game , it doesn't matter who plays for Moeller . Why should Moeller rest their starters , they just lost 2 in a row to teams that they might see in the playoffs . Looks to me like Moeller's starters could use more practice. If they rest their starters it's a built in excuse for losing.

Can Highlands play at the pit next year? And while we are at it, could Elder add more seats to the visitors side? Then, if you sell reserved seats, could you have an usher, to make sure people are sitting IN their reserved seat? After the game Friday night, it's safe to say the GCL South isn't what it's cracked up to be. I did like the twelfth man sign, but you need to add the 13th, 14th and 15th to account for the refs. I would have said Curly, Larry and Moe, but that would have been disrespectful. On a side note: Saw where Mighty Moeller bit the dust again -- two in a row. In advance, I would like to welcome Moeller to the 'ville. You might want to buckle your chin-straps a little tighter than you normally do. Enjoy the ride to the 'ville. The ride home might be just a little longer! I'm a Highlands fan and only a Trinity fan when they play out of state teams -- especially from the GCL South. Are you the same Cardinals fan that was crying because you had 5 starters that were done for the season due to injury ? If that's the case you should man up also !! Were any of the injuries to those players cheap shots ? I forgot to mention that the Elder announcers were talking and laughing about the #3 seed being in the weakest conference in Ohio , yea , they were talking about Colerain ! Welcom to the GCL , honey ? Colerain isn't in the GCL.

I'm sure Elder coaches and players have seen film of this game. I wonder if anything was said to #92 by Elder coaches. We were sitting on the 50 yard line and didn't see or hear anthing with the crowd noise. I know a former Bird LB'er that if he would have saw what happened on that play , we would have had to put him in a straight jacket to keep him off the field. There is no amount of cough syrup that would have kept him calm!! There is a big difference between being tough and being dirty !!

I think if somebody can come up with the video and not still pictures all speculation would be gone. In the 1st photo # 92 is nowhere near PT and two other players already has him close to being down. How long did it take #92 to even get near PT ? Besides a hit to any part of the helmet of a QB is automatic personal foul , and just by seeing the still pictures I would say it was a late hit to boot . Sure would like to see video , anybody ??
