Is this the year Cov Cath wins 4A and beats Highlands?

CovCath is loaded this year and I think they should be able to beat Highlands and win 4A.

You're entitled to your opinion. Your track record is not very good.

Anything is possible, I guess.

Being able to beat Highlands and actually doing it are two different things. From what I read, the Colonels were capable of beating HHS at their house last year, but fell just short. And, this year, the game will be at Highlands, which moves the needle at least a little in the Birds' favor, not to mention Highlands has a lot returning.

And, just to add a view from behind Leatherneck's spectacles, simply beating Highlands doesn't guarantee CC the 4A state title. Lexington Catholic returns some good contributors from last season, including their QB (I think....), and will be a tough out in the playoffs for anyone they play.

Thanks for starting another Highlands thread to keep the offseason interesting. Since you and the Bulldog are in agreement about the SK program, I guess you have to look elsewhere to talk about the potential for a state championship!

Misspelled Leatherneck...Mrs. Black would be disappointed!

Go Birds! Beat CovCath...Again...and Again...and Again...(you get the picture)

If by "loaded" you mean replacing the O-line, the entire receiving corp, the 2,000 yard running back, your jack-of-all-trades, and your two stud kickers then you're right.

I think you may be assuming that Highlands will be "down", compared to recent years. I think that would be a false assumption.

I don't think so. They can still be really good but be down as compared to last year's team.

Exactly...not being a CCH fan, I thought I was missing something about who they lost and who is coming back. I thought CCH lost a lot this year. I will trust your opinion on this.

Highlands is "loaded" too, should be a fun game at DCM. One thing is certain SK wouldn't beat either team, no matter who the coach is. Maybe SK can get in on the Bill Parcells derby.

And this is exactly what drives these kids, to work harder and be better then "last yrs" team. This is said every year at Highlands and its part of the recipe and it also is a barometer for Dale to figure out how much Blue to add to the Koolaid.

As for the title of the thread, folks had better believe CovCath is for real, Coach Wirth has them working together again after some set backs from a few yrs ago.

There isnt anybody who respects CovCath and their program more then Dale and company and for anyone to think that Highlands will ever slow down, let their guard down or loses their respect for the Blue Colonels then they are dead wrong.

CovCath is going to be real good this yr and Highlands knows it and I am excited to see CovCath returning to the top and watching some great games for yrs to come.

Nope.....The Birds may not be as good on defense as years past but the offense has way too many weapons. Birds should and will be the favorite.

They return the best QB in KY this year. Along with a big running back Sam Dressman.

I don't think so. They can still be really good but be down as compared to last year's team.

HHS will be very very good. They are super deep at almost every position..I think the Birds win state again..Their line is bigger than normal and very athletic. They will be 5 or 6 deep at wr and 3 or 4 deep at rb..The qb position won't be to shabby either...
