I think over all the schedule changes not only strengthens it but is a better fit for Bellevue in the future. HC for NCC - May just turn out not to be much of a differance this year. But in the future wil make a better schedule for Bellevue. While HC is still a bigger school not only in enrollment but they can recruiter all of KY (and CG). NCC was to big a game (emotional) for Believe due to some of the kids living in the same city, with very little up side for a non district game. We will call the game a lateral move in the schedule. Walton for Bracken Caty - Not only is Walton now a must play district game but in my opinion will be a much better program in the future. This one is a definite upgrade for now and the future Scott for Paris - Scott is not only a much larger school but has probably had the better team of the last couple of years regardless of the record. I think a bigger school has to be an upgrade in your schedule Holmes for Gallatin Cty - I think this is a good change. Here again they have added a larger school who has more potential for putting a good team on the field year after year. It also takes them out of the position of a possible first round match up with a team you just beat in the final game of the season as happened last year. The familiarity last year got them beat in the first round. Again a larger school has to be considered an upgrade. I give the coaching staff a :thumb: for improving the schedule rather it was by a lateral move, or picking up a beater team or just by scheduling a larger school with more potential year in and year out for talent.

Bellevue looked good on D. The front line looked much improved form last year. The DB's looked good at times seemed like they were still looking for the starting combination due to a lot of substituting going on. I'm sure they are looking to sub for Buckler, who starts at safety, when possible to keep his legs fresh. In my opinion the linebackers are going to be the deciding factor for Bellevue this year. First year starter DJ Slater (The Slatinator) looked very good. The kid is really working hard this year and has gotten the attention of his teammates by the way he has steped up. Over all the linebackers played well last Friday but need to keep improving. That being said Carroll County didn't have a Walker for Bellevue to try to contain. I think they can match up with Roenker, although a big game by him wouldn't surprise anyone. The key will be if Bellevue can keep contain. If, and understanding HC has some great athletes so that might be a big IF, Bellevue keeps contain they have a good chance of winning. Do you have a scouting report for HC up front and for the linebackers?

Key will be not to let him get to the open field. Great athletes do great things if you let them.

I'm glad we still play the games. That means that Bellevue still has a chance to win. Buckler goes over a hundred and this is a much closer game than most are thinking. Bellevue under Dave Eckstien has been one of the more conditioned teams in NKY and for a class A team they substitutes quite a bit. I don't see them getting wore down. Ronker will get his, he is an outstanding athlete, your not going to shut him down just limit the damage and keep the game manageable. I thought Richard Wills looked good in the CC scrimmage on Friday night. He could be the key to the whole season. If he continues to play like he did Friday it will be a very good year for the tigers. DJ Slater looked good I'm very impressed with the way he seems to be stepping up his junior year.

From the kids I've talked to DJ Slater (The Slatinator) has look real good so far in practice. The kids are real impressed with how far he has come.

Beechwood got some great breaks last year down the stretch. That being said they always seem to get the breaks. Maybe just maybe they make their own breaks. They have the winning tradition and that goes a long way. They will have a better team next year than this year IMO. We will have to wait and see if the couple of seniors they lost were the thing that made the team or if it was just the Beechwood tradition and we'll see next year seniors will step up and take the place of the ones they lost. With all the tradition and good coaching they have I think they have to be one of the favorites in the 9 th.

15 grand isn't a lot of money but might be a good start for a weight room and some dugouts for the softball field.

I heard he moved to Bellevue but hasn't enrolled yet. Does anyone know if he is practicing with Football Team? I think he played last year.

If your a past player at any school and you can't understand why you should have enough school spirit to help out future players then it is probably beyond me to try to explain it to you. My guess is you didn't get most school spirit your senior year?:ohbrother::puke::confused:

Don't know how you could place anyone above Simpson at this point. Or for that matter how you could put anyone above Quainoo at second before the season starts. All the talent in the world doesn't amount to a hill of bean unless they prove they can get it done. I'm relatively sure that the Collinsworth kid will be a great running back if indeed Highlands plays him there. From what everyone is saying Elliott will be a fine back as well. They still have to prove they can get it done. Respect should be given to the guys that have been there at this point.

My understanding is the class is for Juniors only. Do you really think one class period is enough time? Taking away the time to get into your work out cloths how munch time is really left in a class period? Maybe 30 minutes? Then given the fact there is about 20 Jr. (football season Sr.), and the fact they are lifting in a small room, how much work out time per kid is really there? I'm not knocking the kids or coaches this is about a need for a better work out facility. I would like to see some past players step up and raise the funds to build a real weight room so these kids and coaches can take the program to the next level. If there is anyone interested I would be willing to volunteer my time as well. Send me a PM and we will get to work.

I'm with Clyde on this one. The batter can't cause a bulk by his actions. Rather or not time was actually give to the batter doesn't matter, once he attempts to call time the bulk is off the table due to the pitcher stopping.

No they are not working out now. To be honest there isn't much of a off season work out at all. I know part of the problem is they really don't have much of a weight room. But you have to find a way to get it done.

NCC IMO will hit Sanolia hard. Look at last two games NCC has played. They had trouble with Klaus,from Newport who is a junk ball pitcher and Mayes from Bellevue, who is a junk ball pitcher, when he came in. I'm not sure who all HHS has besides Sanolia but a junk baller is who they need to pitch IMO. Not a knock on Sanolia I think he is a fine pitcher but NCC hits the good pitcher better than they do to Junk Baller.

I think pitch count is all about the individual. I've know pitchers that could consistently throw into the 100's and not feel any ill effects the next day. On the other hand I've know healthy pitchers that if they threw 25 pitches they were going to be sore the next day. The coach has to have a relationship with the pitcher in which he knows when the kid is done. The kids physical make up, his age, past performance (pitch counts), and weather conditions, and last outing all have to be considered. I think it comes down to the coach and his relationship with the pitcher. Some kids 120 would be unheard of, others not that big of a concern. Take care of yourself after the game ICE ICE Baby!

They need to get a better off season work out program. They have some good players and coaches but lack the off season work out program that it takes to be competitive with the good teams.

You obviously don't know the kid. He has gotten the job done for his team the last two years and I would expect him to continue to get the job done for the tigers this year.
