Ram Posted March 19, 2009 Posted March 19, 2009 What does Bellevue need to do to improve in 2009? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.
papa22320 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 They need to get a better off season work out program. They have some good players and coaches but lack the off season work out program that it takes to be competitive with the good teams.

Are they working out now (May 2009)?
papa22320 Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 What do they or don't they do? Are they working out now (May 2009)? No they are not working out now. To be honest there isn't much of a off season work out at all. I know part of the problem is they really don't have much of a weight room. But you have to find a way to get it done.
goaheadandjump Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 In all serious what has kept them from breaking through the past several years is no passing game.

From the kids I have spoken to they have an actual weight lifting class the last period of the day that included about 30 football players. They lift weights and do running drills. The kids all look stronger and bigger,. and based on two of the kids I sponsored for the school's lift a thon, I would say they are getting the work done. The kids not in the weight class lift after school with one of the assistant coaches.
goaheadandjump Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 :sssh:Weight lifting class? I thought those went out when high academics came in...............
goaheadandjump Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 You know they will be disciplined and be able to run the ball (buckler). Who is the QB? and can the QB actually throw this year will determine how far they can go. This unfortunately has been the question for several years.
THEDUDEABIDES Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 It is true that Belleve has a weight lifting class, were they lift, run, etc. From what I have heard and seen the class is definitely paying off. The several kids I saw when I was in town last week, have gotten much bigger. Also, from what I have heard, the underclassmen lift three days a week.
goaheadandjump Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 Dude....how is the QB situation going to pan out? Any thoughts?
goaheadandjump Posted May 21, 2009 Posted May 21, 2009 One thing is for sure. They will work very hard.

Taking away the time to get into your work out cloths how munch time is really left in a class period? Maybe 30 minutes? Then given the fact there is about 20 Jr. (football season Sr.), and the fact they are lifting in a small room, how much work out time per kid is really there? I'm not knocking the kids or coaches this is about a need for a better work out facility. I would like to see some past players step up and raise the funds to build a real weight room so these kids and coaches can take the program to the next level. If there is anyone interested I would be willing to volunteer my time as well. Send me a PM and we will get to work.

The good news is that they are doing something to keep up with the other teams in Northern Kentucky. I know that some of the other teams are working very hard.

Wouldn't it be easier to start with the current players and current players familes? Is there still a Bellevue Boosters? I know when I played, they helped us tons!
