Newport has some really great players returning next year, but they are going to have to work extra hard to replace the 14-15 Seniors that were on the team.

Good luck Wildcats !

Any updates on the coaching position? Seems like a decision would need to be made soon to make the transition a little smoother for all involved. I wonder what the hold up is...

Newport has some nice players coming back next year. The first thing they need is a COACH! It is to bad it is taken so long to find some one, I really hope they find some one they need to get together and start workin. Who every the new coach miay be I think he is comin in on a year that Newport could do something great.

Are any of the assistant coaches taking care of the weight program and the off-season stuff until a coach is named?

No, I don't think so.

None of the current asst. coaches are running winter weights. You would think the AD would step in and ask someone to oversee the weight program--oh my bad, they don't have an AD right now either.

Looks like someone in administration needs to get on the ball and help these kids. I think they spent a lot of money a few years ago to upgrade the weight room facility to only have it locked up and unavailable.

I've got a feeling they have people working on it, but not at the rate it should be done.

They have switched AD's this year too. Newport Administration..........Don't make the same mistake that other programs have in the past and not naming someone until the last minute!! Let's get these kids a chance to compete!!

Newport has 2 quality men filling the AD position and I am sure they are trying to get a handle on where things were left with the previous AD leaving. The kids will come first to both of these men, always. I am sure they are working on it, just not ready to make any announcements.

Go Wildcats!

Either of them looking into head coaching job?

Unfortunately, no. They are both teachers. As it is now, they probably average 14-15 hour days.

Do they have name's?

There really should be no reason for them not to have a new coach by now. This is getting pretty pathetic.

I heard today they will be interviewing next week and it will be addressed, soon after that. I dont know who it is down to.
