katbird Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I know Jones hit a 3 run bomb off of Connor..Bellevue's pitching was definately no where to be found today...
papa22320 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Great hitting performance by NCC. They earned the win. Best of luck the rest of the way. How many seniors do they have?
lOKE27 Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I stand corrected! I thought a 10-2 opinion on the score would be way off? NCC did come out of the gate strong. Pitching for NCC was much better. Nice win for the Breds.
homeofthewhopper Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 I guess Connor threw one bad pitch and it was served up to Jones who hit it a ton!!!! Not sure of the official scoring but that was the only earned run from what I hear!!!!

Not sure of the official scoring but that was the only earned run from what I hear!!!! Why did it have to be a bad pitch? The kid is more than capable of hitting any pitch out of about anywhere. Paper said 6 hitter, actually it was 8 and there were three earned runs.
goaheadandjump Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Yeah I got to agree with Bulldog77. Now I am not a Bellevue apologist and I am a neutral fan in this game.........but I read an awful lot about Hunter Jones and sometimes (it seems) that we as posters try to take away from what he does and quite frankly he is the real deal. Jeremy Connor is a great pitcher. Great job by Hunter to hit one out.
Miller Posted May 19, 2009 Posted May 19, 2009 Don't think your right on that one. But was a good performance by Connor. Absolutely correct on that one. Breds had 5-6 errors. Jones crushed a 3-1 fastball.
bulldog77 Posted May 20, 2009 Posted May 20, 2009 Absolutely correct on that one. Breds had 5-6 errors. Jones crushed a 3-1 fastball. Three errors officially. Two in the outfield, one in the infield. All lead to the first three runs.

Paper said 6 hitter, actually it was 8 and there were three earned runs. A 3-1 fastball down the middle of the plate waist high is a "bad pitch" especially to a good hitter. The hits and errors......I guess it comes down to who's keepong the official book. Solid performance by Jones and Connor.

As far as hits and errors, my money is on Bulldog's stats.

From where I was standing, which was right behind the plate, the pitch was on the outside corner. I remember being amazed that a 16 year old young man could have the strength and bat speed to hit a fastball on the outside black, out of the park in left field. In fact, it was more toward left-center than anything. What a true talent! I really enjoyed watching him play. The play he made at SS was ignorant! It's a shame Bellevue and Newcath had to play in the first round. I would like to have seen Bellevue in the Regional Tournament. Congrats to Bellevue on a great season, and continued success to Newcath.
