Blake Bryan from Villa Madonna is quite a scorer, leading the state in scoring this year and likely will as a senior next year. Not of the same caliber as the players mentioned above, but is definitely a strong player.

He is a Junior, was home-schooled till he was a Sophomore.

No question at Moore High School - Manual Forest. Still among the all time scorers in Ky history, scoring over 3,000 against tough Louisville competition. Put up 50 in a loss in the state tournament against Simon Kenton in 1981. One of the all-time greats in Ky. Was rated the #2 player in high school that year behind Patrick Ewing. Bad knees got to him at the University of Louisville keeping him out of the pros.

Coach Van Houten passed away suddenly last week to a heart attack at the young age of 58. He started the golf program in 1991 and was head coach until he passed away last week. 18 golf seasons, he led the Blue Lightening. Many teams tried to take charges against Bryan last year, but was finding it very difficult because of he slashing ability. Most teams tried to double team or even triple team him in the back court, but that was futile as he dribbled strong between defenders. I really believe he will average 30 this year and look pretty good doing it. If he can play within the offense and improve his team ball playing ability, he will put his points on the board and Villa will have success. If not, he will put up his points and Villa will suffer. I am a big fan of the kid and Coach Starkey will continue requiring him to play team ball. So, I am expecting big things.

Bryan scored 16 and Wiliamson 18. Not a big difference.

Both are very good players and will get recognition in the Region as they deserve. Bryan will probably drop 25+ points a game this year and will lead the region in scoring this year, so will be hard not to name him POY for D III.

I personally don't think it's necessary for this website. If every school posted about players who won awards at yearly banquets it would be pretty uninteresting for everyone else who didn't receive the awards.

Impressive stats by Luke, no doubt. It is very difficult to determine who should be the POY between Luke and Zac when comparing stats of players who are on two different teams with different talent levels. Both teams make it to the regional final of their respective regions. Scott came from nowhere, but arguably in a weaker region, IMO. Zac batted 31 less times largely due to the talent levels of the two teams. Zac just got fewer opportunities, yet he hit 3 more HRs (10 HRs broke the record for Scott). If he had 31 more ABs, he would logically hit an addtional 4 or 5 HRs if he maintained that pace. I believe he saw less good pitches batting down in the line up vs. Luke who led off for CCH. Luke walked 11 more times, but had 40% more Plate Appearances (149 - 106). Zac was definitely more valuable to his team than Luke. Difficult vote. All things are not equal, but it is close enough to me. If they are fairly equal, my vote goes to the Senior - Zac Adams.
