Coach Van Houten passed away suddenly last week to a heart attack at the young age of 58. He started the golf program in 1991 and was head coach until he passed away last week. 18 golf seasons, he led the Blue Lightening. Here is a nice article written by Richard Skinner describing his legacy:

He was truly one of the classiest coaches in all of high school sports.

I only had the chance to around Coach Van Houten one time, but he was one of the nicest people I've ever met.

Very sad. Denny was a class act and great guy.
