To answer the question who are the winners and losers. I'm not sure who the winners are, but in the long run the losers are the state of kentucky football.

The funny thing about all of these so called solutions, is that we wouldn't need any if we would just stay a 4 classes. Kentucky high school football has been putting out a great product the last 10 years (since the re-institution of spring ball). I am afraid that we are trying to fix something (going to 6 classes) that isn't broke.

What will they (the KHSAA) do when a team wants to "play up" and they are currently in a 4 team district? How will that effect the playoffs when there is only three teams left in the district to make the playoffs?

David Akers with the Eagles. My oh my look how good Kentucky football has gotten. This is incredible the amount of high school products playing in the NFL. I don't think that our bretheren in basketball can say the same about the NBA and KY kids. This is a football state.

The bottom line in all of this is: They (the KHSAA) did this to quiet the private\public debate. The only thing that may happen in expansion of classes is, that there might be (and I say might be) a 5th class added. We will not be going to 6 classes. If I was St. X or Trinity, I would not complain one bit. You guys will get to play in the third round and keep the gate instead of playing in the finals and giving ALL of the money to the KHSAA. The only thing that is acceptable at those two schools are championships. Getting to the state finals is not good enough unless you win.

I heard it form Coach Letton also. Good hire by Coach Letton. The LC program is in good hands with Bill Letton. He will make good moves to continue to build this program.

The double standard has been going on for some time. They will play Lex. Christian or Sayre, or Trinity, but not Lex Cath.

Can't happen this year. Teams already have their schedules set. Re working them at this point would be impossible.

The new coach at Caldwell will be David Barnes. He informed his team at Daviess Co. tody, that he was going to take the Caldwell job.

It won't affect it. He had it put into his contract, that he be able to keep his seminar service. Obviously, he won't be able to be a hands on worker with schools during the season. Congrats to Tony.

No stats, but Brandon Logan (Lexington Catholic grad.) was not red shirted at Michigan. He played on most of their special teams and has a bright future with the maze and blue.

Winning their first state championship has to be the biggest and\or most significant. But their win in 96 vs. Beechwood was the first win vs. a dominant program and made a statement that they were ready to take the journey towards being a state championship quality program.

Is that the reason his team is playing for a state championship this weekend? Oh sorry, they got beat by Owensboro Catholic. OC beat them in the 4th quarter when many of the FC players (including Micah) were laying of the field cramping. I know Micah is a great player, but Justin Burke was by far the most Important and most impressive player in Kentucky this year. I am glad to see that Micah is going to UK and he may be the most talented kid in this class, but you can't argue with 62 TD's and 5 int's. This voting has a lot to do with the push for the separation of public and private. It truley a shame that either of these kids won't get to have this title. Congrats to Micah and good luck next year at UK.

It is the worst penalty in HS football. It is way too severe. 15 yards and a loss of down.

You don't need to come on here and start spreading rumors about someones livlihood. Mason is a good person and coach. Many of the things that happened at Nelson this year were out of his control.
