If true, and I pray its not, what a tragedy.

My worse nightmare since I have a nephew who is out there practicing each day in this weather.   I pray that this is not the fact but if it is my prayers are with his family and I so pray that God welcomes him into his loving arms.

How tragic....this scares me as these things are becoming more and more prevalent....and we are making things safer by the day. I am confident they'll find some sort of defect, etc....we need to find a more accurate pre-screen process for these young athletes.

This is a true tragedy. I hope that this does not turn out to be a preventable incident as it has been thus far implied. My prayers are with the young mans family.

This is terrible. I'm not saying that it is the cause of this death, but there should never, ever be heat or dehydration deaths in high school sports.

Very sad, my thoughts and prayers go out o his family and friends. The love for this game in the state is tremendous, I just hope that people realize that things like this can happen, and remember its JUST A GAME. (not saying anyone person is at fault.)

I agree. This issue has now been front-and-center for many years. It should be first priority of any coaching staff.

This is awful news. I simply cannot imagine.

I get concerned because in our performance based society, there are a ton of artificial supplements, legal and non, that can adversly effect the human body, especially on still in development, in the harsh of conditions. I believe that is a major role in the boost of young men's deaths in the last 6-7 years.

I agree. Not saying thats what got this kid but unfortunately alot of high school and college kids are looking for a "quick fix" because of the pressures to start and play so they turn to enchancing drugs to get the edge and often times when their bodies are not in shape for them. My prayers go out to the team and the family of the young man.

Prayers and thoughts for the family

The player was a Junior and had practiced this morning. At approx 9:45 on thw way into the locker room after morning drills, he collasped and was helped into the locker room where 911 was called and he died at the hospital which is about less then 10 miles from the practice field. Ironic that earlier in the week a local news station did a story with Henderson coach Duffy about the heat and practice. God bless everyone involved.
