Darius is at St. Henry? When did he transfer from Walton and why?

Boone beat Campbell County last night 34-14. It was tied at half 14-14 but Boone finally kicked it in in the second half. Boone has Ryle and Cov Cath their last 2 games. I believe they need to beat Cov Cath to make playoffs. I've been told the top 2 teams from each division go to playoffs. Can anyone confirm?

It's sad those taxpayers aren't sending their children to the public schools they live within and putting their tuition money towards those public schools and wow what great facilities and educations all of our kids could get.The private school kids would learn about diversity early on and sharing with their less fortunate neighbors. It's those taxpayers that choose to put their extra money elsewhere by keeping it within their private community. It's just a shame the entire community could benefit from the extra money spent at the public schools. Joining forces (public and private) would create better educations with fantastic facilites for both groups and some fantastic sports teams.

Bradley went out earrly in the third qtr. according to the paper with any iinjury. So his stats look pretty good for a half of a game especially against a bigger school like Ryle.

No my comments have nothing to do with the Moss girl. I was responding to you degrading academics at Boone High and the opportunity students may have at Boone.

Boone County High School has more teachers with advanced degrees than any of the other 3 Boone County Hiigh Schools. The AP classes are there and available with the personnel to teach them. The challenge at Boone are the families with financial struggles and single parents that can't manage their childs every move which in return brings academic averages down slightly but believe me if a student wants a good education the classes and teachers are there. Some of these students just don't get the guidance that dual income and married parents can provide. This is why I commend the students that take advantage of their resources all on their own without Mommy and Daddy telling them to do it. An overall average doesn't dictate what's available academically.

This isn't about sports for most of the kids attending Boone schools outside of where they live. There's a very strict process that the Bd. of Ed. follows that in a few cases enables kids to attend other schools within Boone. I commend the Bd. of Ed. for doing what's best for the child and their well-being and keeping them within our district. No one will never know the full truth to these cases because they are very private matters. That's whats best for the students.

After 3 weeks of play who are the top teams and players?:popcorn:

Sawyer Williams (Owen County) is a late bloomer and wow what a summer he had in AAU. He was the most improved player I've seen in one summer season. One of the best post players I've seen and tough as nails. He's 6'6" and I think will grow more. No one knows about this kid because he hasn't been on the major aau circuit until this summer. I believe there are many kids out there like this we don't know about.

It would be very interesting to see where the Cov Cath kids would be playing High School football if they stayed true to their public schools. Also the kids that pay tuition to go to Beechwood and other schools that allow out of district players. Where would some of these top football players be going to HS based on where they live?

I would love to hear the highlights for Boone and where they need to improve. I heard their running back Jeremiah "Jet" Williams looked very good running the ball. I also heard Mustafah sp? another running back and linebacker looked good and he's an 8th grader. How was Boone's QB? Did they throw the ball? Sounds like defense needs improvement!

Just curious... Did all the players get in this game for both teams since it was such a blow out? ....and do you think all the players should get in this type of blow out game being played at Nippert?

I'd guess Boone because of Nell and it's academics. Unfortunately test scores on avg. may be lower because of some lower income families with tough family struggles and lack of home support but academically Boone has the most teachers with advanced degrees and more academic scholarships given than any other Boone County High School. The teaching experience and programs are there to be had if the students want to achieve them.

The difference between Coach Fookes and some other coaches is that althouugh her expectations are high for hard work and dedication and it's her system that you will follow, is that she always shows compassion and care for her players. That's how she gets her girls to play hard for her. If you show you care about them as a person and other things (school, family) in their life, they will buy into your system and play hard for you. In return she works extremely hard to get her players scholarships. Sounds like a great approach for a fresh start to me! No irony here. Good Luck Sydney!

That was Owen County Varsity. They only brought one team. How did Montogomery and Brown look from Boone? Will they get varsity minutes this year for Boone? and how did Kellen Smith do for Scott?

Congrats to Boone County JV winning 2 games today to be crowned JV Regional Champs. They beat Dixie 5 - 0 with Curtis Crabtree pitching a complete shut out and in the championship game they beat Holy Cross 8 - 0 with Howard Brosky pitching a complete shut out. Justin Carzolli hit a HR out of the park against HC. Congrats to the Rebels and Coach Chalfonte with their wins:dancingpa and getting the field ready today!

Boone beat St. Henry. In the top of the 7th it was 5 to 3. Not sure of the final score but Boone won. They play Lloyd next tmrw. 5pm at Lloyd.
