Campbell co. has to be the favorite, very solid team. St Henry is very good too. Watch out for Lloyd, two tough losses to St. Henry , one to Campbell and one to Conner....these guys are playing good....Brady Asher pitched a complete game last night against Highlands in improve to 5-0...they are hitting the ball good and making plays when it counts....they start 6 freshman and 3 8th graders....I have not seen Boone Co. or Cov Cath but have to expect them to be good also...

Ryle has beaten CCH 4 of 5 times. Their record is something like 17-4 or thereabouts, with losses to CCH (which they avenged 4 times over), Holy Cross (whom they also beat), Boone (whom they also beat), and Conner (not sure if they beat them or not). Guarantee Coach Demler has Ryle ready to go for a 3-peat!

Ryle is a very good team also....I meant to add them to my original list....I can't believe I left them off....they tied with Lloyd this year....Lloyd had a runner on second with their 3 hitter at the plate, in the eighth inning when the umpire called the game due to darkness....cant wait to see the draw....

Isn't the draw today?

It seems like Ryle's JV team is always good... As you mentioned they've won the last two... It's unfortunate it doesn't translate to varsity.

I'm sure the 2007 team that went to state would disagree. Last year's team was a disappointment, but this year's team has competed well over a very tough schedule. I'm sure your comment is slightly biased . . . .

It seems like Ryle has had 4 or 5 really good JV years in a row. I think they just had those 2 really good years at the varsity level in 06 and 07. I would speculate a lack of senior leadership the last two years plus their pitching staff and hitting has not been as good. They are always solid fundamentally and that can win a lot of games at the JV level with average pitching. Average pitching does not get it done as easily at the varsity level.

Ryle has been fortunate enough this year to beat Conner 3 times on the JV level but each game could have went either way all decided by 2 runs or less. Jugg- I believe you are referring to a game between Ryle's freshman team in the above post. The JV team has not played Lloyd yet. I believe they play next week. I agree with your above comments straightshooter. I believe the varsity Raiders will be right in the thick of the 33rd before it is said and done. They are well coached and you have to think the bats will get going at some point.

From what I hear Conner's JV team has struggled all year with something like 4 or 5 wins this season and over 10 losses.

Changeup, you might be right about the Ryle - Lloyd game, they have their Freshman team listed as JV-B, but you are correct they will see each other next week, I guess we'll see how we stack up. Does anyone know where to find the tourney bracket?

I was told Ryle has the bye and plays the winner of Boone and Scott.

If this is indeed accurate, they caught a nice break in the tourney setup by getting a first round bye.
