  1. She started with them after Nationals last August. They played about 5 fall tourney's and practiced some during the winter.
  2. It was nice stopping by and seeing so many kids playing at softball city this weekend. Looked like things went really well. Tim Lang and the rest of the NKY Bandits did a great job. The one thing I learned was that Farbeyonddriven and I think way to much a like!! Nice seeing people out at the ball fields.
  3. Would love to hear about girls in the state playing on summer teams. List name and team and HS if you would like! Madyson Moran, Beverly Bandits (Chicago) Holy Cross.
  4. Maybe we can have an independent HS softball team. I wonder how many kids would sign up? I know of one for sure! I have no clue about the Smith girl, so I shouldn't guess but I will 30%
  5. You had 2 more than I knew of. Pretty cool if Allen leaves OU with a world series ring.
  6. Congrats to both teams. How many hits did Ginn end up with for her career.
  7. That's great, you have to love high school sports.
  8. Congrats to all, the Stephens name is one I haven't heard of before. Any info on her as far as grade, position, etc? Didn't see a pitch of the tourney but Ryle had 4 players voted all region and Smith was not one, did she have an off tourney?
  9. Congrats to all. I do not know all the regions but in the 9th I wouldn't think the player of the year is one of the top 10 players in the 9th. Congrats to her for receiving the award and maybe she has improved since I last saw her.
  10. Bat is sold, thanks
  11. On the Ohio fastpitch connection you can find something....I am sure there are teams looking for players even this late. Something I would consider is possibly just offering to guest play for teams that way you can try to find the right fit for your family. There are many levels of travel ball and many teams so if you look hard enough you may find a perfect fit.
  12. Awards are great,, unfortunately for softball in NKY they seldom get it right.
  13. Probably would but our team is sponsored buy DeMarini. Our guy deals with so much I figured I would just sell it and buy I knew one to save them the hastle.
  14. Learn something new everyday!!
  15. I wish, this bat is new and still in the wrapper. She wanted a different size.
  16. Sounds like Connor was rolling in this game, I wonder if they will lose any advantage bc of the rain.
  17. I have a brand new 2012 DeMarini fastpitch bat. It is a 32-22, if anyone is interested please let me know. Asking $200, retails at $299.
  18. What are her goals after HS? If she wants to play in college a travel ball team would be her best bet. If she just wants to have the best HS possible lessons would work. Cons for me are, I won't have a true free weekend till November and of course the money. Pros for me are it is a whole lot of fun your kid is getting better by facing better compeition. I get to spend a lot more time with my daughter than I would if she didn't play. I think the pros and cons are different for each family.
  19. I don't know all the details but the NKY Bandits are hosting a softball tourney this weekend starting Friday through Sunday at Softball City and FOPA, sounds like they have a lot of teams if anyone wants to check out some softball this weekend. I would think this will be the best tourney held in NKY this summer.
  20. How far are the fences at St Henry? I haven't been there in a couple years but I don't recall them being that deep. NKU can be about 220" in the gaps. Sounds like a good game.
  21. They have been slow to come out. That's for sure.
  22. How many Sluggers are going to be future racers? I know they have followed you guys around quite a bit.
  23. All these statements from a girl getting hurt. Would you have been upset if she was practing and got hurt? I am sure she didn't go play with the attentions of getting hurt. Almost everyone wants their teammates to play more and then someone gets hurt and everyone wants to say where is their commitment to their team. Very few HS softball teams show any type of commitment for their players. Most summer teams that have kids in HS don't start until the HS season is over, is this girl a middle schooler playing up for her HS. When my daughter was in middle school she played HS and travel ball bc her team was from OH and their middle schoolers couldn't play HS so of course they wanted to play. If she had to choose one of the other it would have been one of the easiest decisions of her life and yes I said HERS. Her travel ball team and I love HS sports but I would have supported it 100% The fact of the matter is AAU, travel ball etc is here to stay and is no way going away. People need to get with the program or HS sports will be hurt in the long run. There are top soccer players all around the country that don't play HS any more. If HS don't find away to work with AAU teams then the top players just won't play HS much longer. There are different levels of travel ball/AAU and yes not everyone is going to get a scholarship but if you don't play travel ball your chances go from not good to almost zero. There are seveal girls in NKY this year that had great HS careers and IMO probably could have got better offers from colleges but didn't play at a high enough level in summer ball. I haven't seen Ginn from Walton play in years but from all reports I have heard she is still a top level player, and she is the career hits leader in the state of KY and the best she got was a walkon to Morehead, that's not bad but I bet if she would have stepped it up and played on a better travel team she would have got a better offer. And I bring up Ginn bc she is good and I wouldn't think there is anyone in the area more dedictated to her school than the Ginn family.
  24. Who does St Henry lose besides Salzer next season? Noelle Butts is more than capable of handling the pitching as long as she has some help.
  25. Congrats to Megan, nice to see a non pitcher win an award. (i don't believe she is a pitcher) I didn't get a chance to see her or many of the other good teams this season. To beat out Ginn, Salzer and Smith along with others this young lady must have had 1 heck of a season.
