  1. I will pick Connor just to help out NCC, I got 1 out 4 right in the first round!!
  2. No you can pitch as many games an innings that you can. During the summer it's not unusually to see a girl pitch 7 or 8 games over a 3 day period.
  3. Agreed they should be tough in the future. Very disappointing way to end their season. Congrats to New Cath on making the semis's.
  4. Well there goes my pick to win the region unless St henry makes a great comeback Reports are Connor 7-0 in the 3rd
  5. Ryle by a lot, Newport is improved but got in bc they play in a bad district, and there district has some dumb rules.
  6. Beechwood is hot and I am riding with them. Don't think it was a huge fluke for them to beat NDA. Seems like dixie has played well this year but came up short in the big games.
  7. NDA should win this one farily easliy if they can regroup from the district finals.
  8. I believe Connor has put St Henry out the last 2 years in close games. I think St Henry returns the favor this year.
  9. Of course I don't make the rules but I would like to see if a batter throws the bat then she is called out and restricted to the bench, no ejection. I have said before if her bat had hit someone they were going to the hosiptal. On a side note I have only seen this young lady against HC and Beechwood and they have below average pitching but if she can hit good pitching the way she does bad she will have a future in this game after HS.
  10. NDA got a nice draw also, IMO they got the weakest of the district winners, (couldn't draw Beechwood) and wouldn't run into Ryle till the finals. St Henry vs Connor is a tough first round game. I picked St Henry to win the region pre season I am sticking with them
  11. Looks like it would be hard to learn. We work a lot on stopping at contact and stopping at extenison and that can be hard enough at times. I heard they play almost all Jr's and senior's bc it takes so long to learn and they have 32 players on their roster which is a huge numer, most schools are around 20.
  12. Ok. She did clearly throw it when she hit the homer and she had been warned her previous ab. Would the homer still counted? (The didn't call anything but should have). Seeing nothing was called on her homer I would think her hit in the 7th should have been aloud. I could be wrong about this but I don't really remeber the umps coming together to discuss this and their seemed to be very little argument from NDA
  13. If the rule is you throw the bat you are restricted to the bench, then he blew the call on the girls second at bat. She CLEARLY threw it and he knew it bc he stopped the game to give NDA's coach a warning. NDA benifited greatly from this blown call bc the young lady hit a homer her next ab. I agree hard to know all the rules but when you have 3 umps someone should know. Either way I am glad she gets to play in their next game
  14. BW lead through out the game, NDA came back and tied it a couple times but BW was in control from start to finish. I tend to think NDA is the better team bc of pitching but this was Beechwood's day. If NDA took BW lighly shame on them, this was the district finals. NDA is much improved but are no near the point they can look past teams
  15. If she would have been restricted earlier in the game she would have never batted in the last inning, thus no leadoff single in the bottom of the 7th. And no home run earlier in the game. So who knows what would have happened in the 7th bc this young lady would have been on the bench. I am still on sure if she was restricted or ejected but either way I hope she gets to play in NDA's next game, is there an appeal for an ejection? Being there I believe her actions could have been very dangerous, but IMO her actions were 100% unintented, so let her play.
  16. Agree, 1000%. Well done to all involved and yes David deserves a lot of credit also
  17. Possible but I am pretty sure they said she was ejected. If she was restricted I would think they would have premited a pinch runner. Btw there were 3 umps so I guess all of them got the rule wrong. Thanks Lawnboy I was not sure of her name but she was crushing the ball the last 2 days.
  18. If you are correct on the rule I agree, she should get to play in the next game
  19. You are correct the bat hit the backstop. The game probably has a different outcome all together bc #99 hit a home run after she was warned the first time so she would have been on the bench at that time. She also threw the bat during that at bat that the umpire over looked. And she wouldn't have lead off the bottom of the 7th with a hit. That doesn't mean her back up wouldn't have but we will never know Again I don't know the rule and I think it should be called corretly. Not knowing the rule and being there at the time I had no problems with the rule she was warned and did it 2 more times and could have been very harmful if it would have made contact. I would think this young lady is one of the better players for NDA and now they will have to face a good team with out her in the region
  20. I have no clue if it is or not but NDA coach didn't argue. On any of the 3 times I saw her throw it if it had hit a person they were going to the hospital so I think it should be a rule. She just didn't throw it to the ground, it was kinda launched from her hands after she hit. You saw a full pinic table full of people behind the fence duck when it came out of her hands. We will never know for sure if it would have changed the outcome of the game.
  21. Sounds like a good game, good luck to both teams in the regions.
  22. Beechwood is your 35th district champs! If I wasn't there I would think this was a huge upset but seeing the 2 teams play I am not so sure. NDA clearly has better pitching and maybe slightly better defense but Beechwood was scrappy and got all the hits and made all the plays when they had to. Tough break for NDA in the bottom of the 7th, #99 for NDA who has been hitting the ball hard all day leadoff with a single to center. She was immediately called out by the home plate umpire and thrown out of the game for throwing her bat after the swing. She had been warned earlier in the game and the umpire even over looked it in her next at bat that happened to be a HR. IMO even though its a tough break you have to call it, in all three at bats the young lady's bat went half way up the fence. Other than that the game was pretty even Beechwood just had a couple more timely hits. I have said it on here before but there is not a coach in NKY that I would rather my daughter play for than Beechwood's coach and today is another perfect example of why. You could tell those girls would run through a wall for her and she was just as exicted as those girls when the final out was made. Congrats to Beechwood and NDA on really good seasons. IMO these 2 teams are the most improved teams from a year ago in NKY. Both coaches deserve consideration for coach of the year.
  23. Yes that is what I meant, 2 years ago Beechwood was about as bad a HS team as you would see, this year they are District Champs!!
  24. NDA destroyed Holy Cross 15-0 I believe in 3 innings. Beechwood over Holmes. In NDA game, their pitcher only gave up one hit to the 10 batters she faced, the 1 hit she gave up was to HC's #9 hitter, HC hit several balls well just right at people, NDA's pitcher does a good job at changing speeds, if she picks up some speed on her fastball she will be really tough on hitters. On offense NDA did a little of everything, they walked a lot, hit a lot and reached on error's a lot. To say the least it was a total mismatch. On a side note, knowing going in you would have to have a perfect game to compete with your opponent and they would have to have an off game do you start your #1 or #2 pitcher. HC decided to start their #2 for reasons unknown, and yes their #1 was healthy and wanted to pitch. She faced 10 batters on the previous day so I am sure pitch count or fatigue was not a problem. Now I am 100% sure NDA wins the game either way but don't you at least try to win. They finally but their #1 in when it was 8-0 with no outs in the second. HC also had a girl in the outfield that I hadn't seen play all year. You gotta love HS softball.
