The 3rd time was a "charm" for the Breds on a hot afternoon at St.Henry.

The ND 1st starts with Laura Finke being hit by a pitch, the next batter Hannah Sullivan hits one to 2nd but the ball hits a streaking Finke, shes out, and the next two strikeout against NewCath's Fr. Sarah Neace. NewCath gets leadoff hitter Mehgan Millard on on an error, but that is all. ND loads the bases in the 2nd with 1 out, but Neace gets Emma Jacobs to K and Finke flys out to right to end the threat. The Breds load the bases in their half of the 2nd with NONE out, but Kelsey Feeback "chops" one to 3rd and they get the force at the plate and get Feeback at 1st. and the inning ends with a flyout to right off the bat of Fr. Loren Zimmerman. ND scores the 1st run of the game in the 3rd courtesy of "errors". With the 1st two batters of the inning retired, 1st baseman Maria Schaeffer hits a liner to Fr. SS Michaela Ware who drops the ball, Rylee Stephenson comes in to run for Schaeffer. Mickie Terry then hits a slow roller right in front of the 2nd base bag and NewCath Fr. 2nd baseman Casey Kohls tries to get the ball and step on 2nd, but can't hold onto the ball and all are safe. After a passed ball moves everyone up 6o feet, Neace throws a wild pitch and Stephenson crosses the plate. The Breds plate 3 of their own in their half of the 3rd. Millard and Kohls get back to back singles and are moved over on a Sac-Bunt from Ware. With Sr. Rachel Hardesty up, Bridget Stewart returns the favor and throws a "wild one" and Millard comes home. Hardesty then singles in Kohls and that's all for Stewart. The Breds score one more on an RBI single from Fr. catcher Kristen Schreiber and after 3 full it's the Breds 3-1. ND gets a runner on in the 4th, but that's it. The Breds score another in the 4th as Zimmerman leads the inning off with a hit and eventually scores on a passed ball.

ND ties things up in the 5th, as they take advantage of yet another Breds error. Sullivan leads off with a walk, followed by a flyout by Amanda Meagher. Then Schaeffer hits a pop-up a mile in the sky and Zimmerman, Ware, & Neace all watch the ball, and by the time Zimmerman takes control she drops what should be the 2nd out, Terry then flys out to center, should be 3rd out. Kelsey Michael then singles to load the bases. Up steps Abby Jones and she gets all of it and drives it to left where Taylor Burkart almost comes up with the over the shoulder catch, but she doesn't and Jones clears the bases and it all knotted up at 4-4.

The Breds put things away in the their half of the 5th as they plate 5. Hardesty and Paige Immegart start the inning off with singles, Schreiber pops out and then Burkart hits one back to the mound and the throw to 3rd is not in time and the "sacks are juiced". Sr. Allison Steffen K's pinch hitting for Feeback, then Zimmerman redeems herself has she drives one to right and the diving catch is not made and all 3 runners score. Zimmerman later scores as the Panda's have mental lapse when Kohls hits one high in the air near the 2nd base bag and the 2nd baseman, SS, & centerfielder all converge as the ball hits the SS glove and falls to the ground. However the damage is done and the Breds take a 9-4 lead.

In the 6th the Breds bring in Taylor Burkart to take over for Neace, and she get the Panda's to go down 1-2-3. The ND 7th sees two get on by walks, but consecutive 6 to 4 forceouts and a flyout to center ends the game.

Congrats to the Panda's on a GREAT season. And Congrats to the Breds for moving on.

Agreed they should be tough in the future. Very disappointing way to end their season.

Congrats to New Cath on making the semis's.

ND has a very good team great year.

Congrats to NewCath on a very nice win, and to Notre Dame on a very nice season.

Seems like Stewart got an early hook during a couple of the postseason games. Is the Jones girl that good?

Congrats to NDA and NCC on great seasons. Both teams should continue to improve as they seem to return almost everyone.

PaNDA - unbelievable actions shots from today's game. Thanks again for all you do for the girls.

A well played game by Denny and the girls of NCC. Congratulations on beating a very very good NDA team. Both teams have a bright future. NDA and Beechwood were two of the most improved teams this year and will be good again next year along with the lady Breds.

Congrats to NewCath on the win and also to NDA for a quality season!
