  1. Of the teams that played on Wednesday, I thought Owensboro, Hopkinsville, and Doss all looked like teams that could run the table if playing well. At this point I would not give one the edge over any of the others. I don't think CovCath matches up well with any of these team, but I thought the same last year, so what do I know. Hoping for a good batch of games today, and looking forward to seeing Ballard, LexCath, Knott County, and Bowling Green play. Should be a lot of fun.
  2. Owensboro was impressive. Their two bigs will be tough to handle...one big and athletic, one big and a freight train. They will cause match-up problems for anyone.
  3. Without question the best game of the day. I didn't know much about Williamsburg and was expecting a Doss blowout. Williamsburg was very impressive. I agree they may have run out of steam.
  4. I need motivation!!! I REALLY want to get back in the habit (which I had for MANY years, but lost in the last year) of getting up for the gym before work. But all of the sudden, my bed is just too warm and cozy. #NeedASwiftKickInTheAss
  5. But this does not debunk anything on humans playing a role. Per your link: The new knowledge is a small but important piece of the overall picture as regards our understanding of how the entire climate system works, according to Professor Seidenkrantz. "Our climate is enormously complex. By gathering knowledge piece by piece about the way the individual elements work together and influence each other to either strengthen an effect or mitigate or compensate for an impact, we can gradually get an overall picture of the mechanisms. This is also important for understanding how human-induced climate change can affect and be affected in this interaction," she says. And per @Twotoplace - even the article you are siting contains a link to an article in the same publication that recants this.
  6. I am open minded on the topic. Please show me, from a credible scientific source, the data and facts that debunk this. Many listed are third world...but many are not and include the American Meteorological Society, American Astrological Society, Geological Society of America, National Academy of Sciences, NASA, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, National Center for Atmospheric Research, and the National Science Foundation.
  7. Your source is an opinion article. My source is NASA (and 200 other scientific organizations). Nuff said.
  8. They are both different than I expected, but I thought they were both well done. I "read" Lincoln and Kennedy on e-books - and O'Reilly did a nice job with the narration. I have a hard copy of Killing Patton.
  9. Again - my position is that human activity LIKELY is CONTRIBUTING - not that human activity is THE CAUSE. But per NASA: Ninety-seven percent of climate scientists agree that climate-warming trends over the past century are very likely due to human activities, and most of the leading scientific organizations worldwide have issued public statements endorsing this position. The following is a list of the nearly 200 worldwide scientific organizations that hold the position that climate change has been caused by human action. 1.Academia Chilena de Ciencias, Chile 10. Agree that there is no undisputed proof. I also agree that this is an overblown politically-driven, money motivated issue. But - it is pretty widely-held that human activity is LIKELY at minimum a contributing factor in the global warming patterns. There is no "smoking gun" proof due to the complexity of the climate system and its patterns. I used to be a staunch "dis-believer". But I do now think that we are having a negative impact. To what extent I have no idea. It is scientific consensus however that we are in an time of warming. The only dispute is how much impact greenhouse gasses etc are having...if any. I now believe they are LIKELY a factor.
  11. This year I have read the "Killings": Killing Kennedy, Killing Lincoln, and currently reading Killing Patton. Also read Razzle Dazzle and American Sniper.
  12. I've not tried it. I might have to take it for a spin.
  13. Tectonic plates would cease movement. Or nothing. One or the other. I'm going with nothing.
  14. I think the biggest unknown is how long Ruthsatz will remain there? I know nothing about him or his situation (or much about CCH basketball), but feel he is one of if not the best coach in the state. And someone who has Div 1 coaching potential. It seems hard to fathom that he will not receive an offer that lures him away...maybe even sometime soon???
  15. It is a silly and ridiculous question. But it makes for interesting conversation....I guess. Other topics we may want to consider: * Is Eddie Redmayne on the verge of becoming the most decorated Oscar winner ever? * Is Mo'ne Davis on the verge of becoming the greatest female athlete of all time? * Is Glutino's Gluten Free cookies on the verge of becoming the next Oreo's? * Is Bruce Jenner on the verge of becoming the most beautiful woman on the planet?? * Is putting the cart before the horse on the verge of putting the cart before the horse?
  16. I am with you 100% - I hate to send it end every year. It's a similar feeling as I get when the time changes in the fall.....almost a depression (not clinically). It will be worse for me this year because my youngest son 2Runner is playing his senior season, and I have no more basketball playing sons in the pipeline.
  17. It's hard to convince me a team that almost gets beat by a weak Newport team is playing their best ball. Agree that the 9th is a tough region to come out of though.
  18. How true. He get's very little credit. Back-to-back Regional Titles with a school that has little basketball success historically. Impressive. And to take the Newport team to state that he did with the talent he had there - probably even more impressive. If you watched any of the three teams play - they all turned it on at tournament time. Maybe he knows how to get kids motivated when it matters!!!!!
